On one hand this isn't very convincing and the way it's written seems more like one of Trump's tweets than it does something he'd write as a private correspondence with a world leader. It could very well be bs, especially as I don't see it on PBS's site.

America has such strong leverage in this scenario that either he gets what he wants or Europe gets fucked and America saves money. It’s a win-win scenario.

Has also not really starved for support. His policies are popular with most voters and every country that matters has shown support for working with him
