My grandpa, the one in Australia, he kept a piece of cable in his truck with duct tape wrapped around both ends. I don't know if it was for a construction crane or where the hell he got it from, I just remember it was this big piece of wire, as long as your forearm from the elbow to the wrist and thick as a baseball bat.
Anyway I remember two different incidents as a boy, once while I was with him and once while I wasn't with him that he swung that cable on somebody. He would hit them in the leg or the ribs and they would immediately go down screaming.
