There's a thread in Q&A called "Ask mods a question" by 0 0, former Animal Control moderator (turned Global). Some of the former moderators might have a say on this but I think quality was a concern. imo the experience in this thread is usually just merging doubleposts, thumbnail shit, and adding archives. Some people usually just do this for quality and SEO purposes for trying to find stuff on the site so it seems more of a chill experience to me.
