Poor dent not understanding how this works. Phil isn't there to add entertainment. He is there to suck up whatever dent funds he can through things that aren't Phil.

JRPGs fall into the 2nd tier of Phil gaming content, that is the Low Effort, tier. They don't require constant attention and execution from the user they are fairly low stress and easily drawn out.

Games Phil wants to play usually fall into one of 3 tiers. Games like Dark Souls and Elden Ring Phil hates and does solely because they are so big for other streamers.

The top tier are the games Phil actually wants to play, and those solely consist of online multiplayer games, mainly StreetFighter/Capcom and CoD. All Phil actually wants is to beat other people in a game and feel powerful and talk down to them like they are beneath the all powerful Phil. WWE Champions is his addiction because its this but its pay to win, and gives him the boost of being good in a pay to win game makes him feel financially successful.

The 2nd tier is Low Effort and that is where we get RPGs and JPRGs especially. Phil loves pretending to love these games because the dream is to just sit and slowly play some JRPG for months on end and be given money for it.

The 3rd tier is the No Effort level and that is your Truck Sim and PowerWash simulator, where Phil is completely checked out and shows the game zero respect because outside of the first tier, Phil doesn't like video games and only got into variety gaming to begin with to make money on Youtube because he already maxxed out the spamming he could do with fighting games.

I guess you could have a 4th tier be games that require constant effort and input from the player that if they weren't so popular with streamers Phil would avoid entirely.

Outside of games he gets to beat 12 year olds and spit in their face after, or other 40 year old tards in the case of WWE Champions with its leaderboard that he is addicted to, Phil has no interest in video games on any real level and its why we are seeing and will continue to see more and more no effort games come across his schedule.
 
With RPGs especially, there's numerous guys online who are super autistic and detailed in their own way... completionist, optimized playthroughs, low level challenges, etc... Then there's the natural entertainers, which Phil obviously isn't. Phil's general just finish the game usually with mindless facetanking especially does not work for RPGs.
 
I don't even remember the Endless Tower being that much of a struggle? I was probably lower leveled than DSP and certainly didn't have a guide cause there were none. His big issue really is that he just wants to parry and never ever EVER press the dodge button when in reality if its an attack you can't consistently parry every hit dodging is a much better choice and you have the space to equip passives to give you stuff for dodging. If anything I was upset with most of the post game besides Simon being a joke once you got the right pictos and learned how to combo.

It really is some kind of ego thing with DSP he wants to be able to say "I beat everything with Parry! pure skill baby" I also think he seems to do pretty bad damage and his char setups just suck. I pulled up my save and compared the damage and setup I was doing and I'm doing so much more than he is and ya all of my weapons were lvl 33 like @The Paleblood Vessel pointed out he doesn't have.

My Lune was setup to always have 4 different stains every 2nd turn 100% of the time and able to use her strongest skill every time 2 turns as well that did 6-8 million AOE (legit made the game a fucking joke) and I just watched his footage and he is not even close at all to that damage. His Maelle seems super reliant on Gommage to do damage but I hardly ever used it and I used Verso as my 3rd with a focus on breaking with his gun and having perm S rank with 100% crit.

Just taking a look at my setups vs his and it's pretty clear he has zero clue about how to setup anyone, isn't paying attention to the stat values of the equipped pictos (I have chars with 15k HP his highest is 7.3k), isn't leveling weps, pigeonholed chars into specific roles, doesn't understand how to use AP because it will just cap every turn with the right setup (Verso can fire his gun like 9 times every 2 turns to stack debuffs/break and still have AP for his skills), really just doesn't shoot his gun at all unless forced and honestly it's just bad all around this would be like playing FF7 and still not knowing how to setup materia and stuff before fighting emerald weapon.

No, the costumes in this game are purely for visual purposes and don't serve the gameplay, he probably has them all bald because they were dropped from the hardest mimes in the game, so he sees it as the equivalent of bragging rights. It would be like if he beat Simon the Divergent Star (lol at the thought by the way) before stopping, he'd be rocking the Simon hair on every character in a hypothetical "EXPEDITION 33 NEW GAME PLUS PLAYTHROUGH" just to brag that he did it.

This came across my desk tonight, for those of you who may not know, Pat is one half of former Super Best Friends who were on Machinima.
I don't follow his streams or if he's as big a lolcow to people as Phil is, so I have no reason to believe those are botted views, but I am interested to see if Phil can reach these numbers without bots.

Clicked on the stream to see the layout. I don't know who Phil watches stream but I almost never come across people who beg or put up money tickers like Phil does. He really is all about the money and the optics of being "successful"
