I think most countries that currently trade with Iran already have a 25% tariff, if not more. Or are fully embargoed. So Trump has in fact done nothing.

Just hitting random military targets is not likely to in any way support the Iranian People not deter the Ayatolla. The only thing that might work is selectively and surgically targeting IRGC and Basij leadership. Which Israel already seems to be quietly doing. But that's a much more complicated operation. And one that you don't want to just threaten.
He certainly does not want to take any "kinetic action" that harms civilians or protesters. Things like bombing the oil infrastructure is counterproductive as it cripples the new government you want. What are the viable options?

Im thinking missile sites to prevent a retaliation attack against US bases or Israel. Some of their electronic warfare/ jamming systems, maybe some decapitation strikes on key leaders perhaps with Mossad assets and Israel intel? They can hit barracks and living quarters of IRGC personal. I don't think we will see a Maduro style capture as funny as that would be.

Thing is, this never impacts the leadership. Ever. China does not give a single solitary fuck about the opinions of its (non party, non oligarch, non central committee) subjects. Shit, Iran has gone without for almost 50 years, and has still had more than enough oomph to massacre its citizens.
