being a resisterino is fun when you do it in full view of the public, getting manhandled by the cops is fun if at the end of the day they let you go home with a slap on the wrist and you get to larp as a brave martyr who stood up to fascism.
it's not so fun when you get dragged out of your bed at night and spend the next week in a prison cell where your only contact to the outside world is 30 minutes of phone time a day and occasional visits with your lawyer.

The problem with this, at least that viscerally occurs to me, is that stories like these sort of exist ephemerally - nobody participating in protests or demonstrations feel the reality of things that happen in a context that's too different, and so consequently it feels "less real" enough to shake off and not worry about. Breaking up protests and arresting civil dissenters seems to me like something that makes the point more loudly and illustrates to anyone who wants to go to these things "this could happen to you" in a way that reading a news article about someone who was seized at their residence off-camera and out of view (if you even hear about it after the fact) doesn't quite match, you know?

Again, if they had mustered their forces differently the Railroad Cannon crews and other untenable projects could have been redirected. Planes are a lot easier to shit out than colossal guns only moveable by rail.

a nice approach by the feds, imo, would be to completely ignore their behavior at the actual protests while taking extensive notes and doing identification on them, then when they're done protesting and returning home to sleep, they wake up at 3 in the morning to the sound of FBI entering the building to arrest them and carry them off to some federal prison where they remain (because flight risk and repeat offender risk) until tried before a federal court.

I agree completely. Total life ruination tactics would work to stop this. Libs had no problem deploying said tactics on J6 rioters, and it worked there too. The whole Q thing basically evaporated. I would have no issue with said tactics being turned back around. Unfortunately many Republican politicians just don't take this shit seriously. I work in a city that recently had a surge in ICE agents. Absolutely nothing happened other than illegals getting arrested. I never thought a literal nazi germany scenario would happen until I saw the video of the door dash lady who ran into this family’s house because ICE was chasing her down.

It was awful, but I watched the whole thing. At around 6 minutes I burst into tears because the mother had to make a choice to get this lady out of her basement and hand her over. And the entire time she’s trying to protect her family from the goons outside while screaming “I don’t know what to do! That lady just got shot!”

It as very “hiding Jews from the Nazis” then getting caught. It was very Anne Frank. All I could think about was how it must have been during the Holocaust. I just lost it.

That video is like watching a horror movie. I don’t wanna say I’m desensitized to videos of violence, but this other video got me like nothing else.
