I always thought the cognitive dissonance demonstrated by the Kiwi Farms userbase was one of it’s more fascinating aspects.
I mean here you have a website with hundreds of people dedicating their time to some serious investigative work to prove things like how a tranny lied about their finances, how alcoholics cheat and grift, or how streamers emotionally manipulate. A genuine level of truth seeking is displayed for the lives of literal retards.
But as soon as ANY politician is analyzed in the same way, some users here lose their marbles and build mental bulwarks against all criticism. It’s not like the observed behaviors change: greed, fraud, dishonesty, perversion, attention-seeking, ignorance, pridefulness, etc, but a persons status apparently makes or breaks peoples reality. Sometimes the issue seems to be scale (too big to fail). Sometimes it seems like it’s the difference between rich or poor (prosperity gospel). Sometimes it seems that just plain charisma (saying the right things; lying). But regardless some people are dedicated to their politics, and the icons (politicians) they represent so most if not all criticism simply fails.
In many ways the MAGA Kiwi Farmers are another variation of Rekietas wine moms, Hasan’s Tier 3 subs, Dick Masterson fans, DSP donators. They orbit a lolcow because it makes them feel special. The biggest difference however is that lolcows are now a mainstay feature of the Unites States Federal Government which means many Kiwi Farmers feel like national patriots for defending rich old men online.
