I think when you guys pointed out that Potentially Criminal beat his numbers the other night he pulled out the big guns and called in a favor from Branca to one-up Sean.
24 hours later, and it would appear it didn't work.
But going off SSRIs and right on to probably a combination of cocaine and probably ketamine is completely insane. You are literally throwing gasoline on a fire in terms of brain chemistry.
If she has Bipolar Disorder, it likely threw her into a profound manic state. This would raise her energy levels (and libido), but also short-circuit her inhibitions and lead to extreme risk taking behavior.
But if all this is true, it provides the reasoned path for how someone could convince themselves to solve the problem of their child by giving that child cocaine. If mom was on cocaine and mom & dad saw cocaine as being the miracle drug that solved all of mom's mental issues that the doctors could not solve, I could see the gears moving in the direction of thinking they had made a great medical discovery. Especially Nick who sees himself as a genius at everything. And Kayla who by thirdhand accounts has always been looking to one sort of drugs or another to solve all her problems.
Yes. Over time, I become even more and more convinced than they dosed the kid, and it wasn't an accidental/negligent exposure.
1. Nick has a documented aversion to many forms of psych medications.
2. Nick loves cocaine, believes it has medicinal powers it actually doesn't, and that it should be legal.
3. Per StarTrak, Nick played a role in convincing Kayla to discontinue her Zoloft script in favor of using cocaine. I recognize, to some extent, we have to take their word for that, but it certainly fits with 1 and 2 above (IOW, I believe it).
4. Nick's second to youngest daughter also has a behavioral health issue.
5. Said daughter tests positive for cocaine, and is... curiously... the only one of the children that did.
The scary thing is, I don't think he learned a goddamned thing from this. He still thinks he's completely right, and it's the medical field and government that is wrong.
