Iran Crisis & the 2026 War between Iran and the United States, Gulf States, and Israel - Please focus on news and coverage, not argumentation.

So if Iran falls, which I think is going to happen, who do you think will be the next to fall? Kim? Xi? Putin? Whoever the spic is who took over for Castro when he croaked?

So if Iran falls, which I think is going to happen, who do you think will be the next to fall? Kim? Xi? Putin? Whoever the spic is who took over for Castro when he croaked? Gonna be crazy if 2026 is the year that all the dictators end up getting yoinked by America or hung from the nearest lamp post by their people.
Cuba's next just from their completely failed economy. The Norks aren't going to overthrow Kim so that's extremely unlikely. Xi has a non-zero chance of being a victim of a palace coup if their economy gets fucked but that's very unlikely. Putin has a better chance of being couped if we can keep oil sub-$50/barrel for a year or more which would turbo fuck their economy and also being involved in a war with no real end in sight. It'd be 80s era Soviet Union all over again.

Realistically? Castro. I would expect some funnies to happen in Lebanon and Iraq. For all the memes, Russia is just "too big to fail" in a manner that isn't like how it did during the fall of the USSR. It has nukes and stuff, same with China. North Korea is just doing its own thing so I would doubt it but hey you never know!

Retarded take. Its all of it. The 12-day war completely showed the Iranian people that the IRGC can't even do the most basic thing-protect the country. Furthermore, it showed that all the money and arms they sent to the Houthis/Hamas/Hezbollah didn't mean shit because the Israelis were able to punch that shit out with barely any firepower. Then add in the USA bombing the nuclear program, which many considered unnecessary, add in the DECADES of domestic unrest and the water issues AND everything else domestically (women life freedom, regime repression, the economy going to shit because of unnessarly pissing off everyone, spending all the money on arab bullshit and not domestic issues etc etc) and well, people just are done with everything.
It can be both. As long as the government seemed strong and in control people were likely to put up with the various mistreatments.

I think @BiC Lighter is correct about the protests being set off by internal factors, but I agree with you that they wouldn't have accelerated to "Fiery but Mostly Peaceful" if the government hadn't been shown to be utterly incompetent during the the festivities around Midnight Hammer.

In addition to the IRGC losing its senior leadership to Israeli strikes, Western and Israeli airforces showed they could strike Iran with impunity. It shows that if you can convince Western leaders to support your rebellion, they would be able to assist you kinectly with airstrikes.

The fact there is no water, but there were decades of useless arms to Hezbollah, are certainly not helping matters. Even if the government was just as incompent, if they hadn't squandered the resources trying to prop up the Palestinians, they'd have those funds available internally to deal with the protests. Plus seasoned IRGC commanders to coordinate responses.

The IRGC can mow down protesters without functional nuclear facilities and air defense systems. People go apeshit if they don't have access to water. It's the breakdown of daily life that leads to collapse, not muh 12-day slapfights.
Completely agree with the first part.
The protestors don't have jets, and the armored divisions of the IRGC and IA are virtually intact. The IRGC lost a lot of its command staff, but the bulk of the forces are intact and so is their equipment.

Disagree partly with the 2nd and 3rd parts; you are right that's the reasons behind the protests, but as I said above to @Maori Kiwifruit Growers the population doesn't think they can get away burning down government buildings unless the government has shown itself to be weak by getting utterly mogged by the Two Great Satans.

The Castro family hasn't directly governed since 2021. Raul Castro is no doubt still behind the scenes but he was ousted precisely because the country has gone even more to shit in the last few years, if things start popping off he's gone for good regardless of the outcome.

My understanding is that Putin is basically the face of the oligarchy in Russia, Removing him really wouldn't do much.

I think the coked-up comedian LARPing as Ukraine's president could end up on the chopping block in 2026.
Zelensky is gone as soon as they allow elections. Putin does a lot to please the oligarchs but there is a strong cult of personality surrounding him so if the oligarchs tried anything they'd end up poisoned with weird chemicals pretty quick. Putin isn't getting any younger as seen from his poofy face so it's only a matter of time before he's too old and infirm to rule Russia. We all know that there is only one man who can fill Putin's shoes:

Trump could tell Eragon that he'd get the F-35s he wanted and promise he'll be included in the Gaza Peace Plan if he lets us use Turkish airspace. But then again, Turkey has been sharing intel about the Kurds to the Iranians so maybe if we promise to look the other way if Turkey does some purges in northwestern Iran to secure a buffer zone like they have in Syria they'd be cool with it.
As an alternative to F-35s
"We will not intervene in you enacting TKD"

The Norks aren't going to overthrow Kim so that's extremely unlikely.
The US would send in SEAL teams to prop up Kim with Worst Korea's blessings.
IF Kim falls, there would be reunification which means a 20-million strong voting block of brainwashed commie retards.

Putin isn't a puppet, he's more than the face. He is a ruthless political operator. He does need to answer to the nobility in the form of the Oligarchs, but the Ukrainina war isn't at their direction or to their benefit after years and increasing sanctions. Its only someone fetishizing reforming the USSR would enact that level of commitment, over the objections of the industrial elites.

"I have become too fat to be pushed out of a window" is a very interesting form of political defense.

I feel North Korea gets Regime changed when the CCP falls.

Cuba is going to fall this year. My gut is telling me that.

If we bomb Iran and then the Ayatollah flees, Trump will have taken down two major international enemies in a month. The State of the Union speech is Feb 24th. Trump will brag his orange ass off in front of Congress.
Cuba's next just from their completely failed economy.
If Iran goes down this month, Cuba will be down by summer. They're halfway to non-functioning already, and their leadership will be very nervous about the incoming churroing.
The Norks aren't going to overthrow Kim so that's extremely unlikely.
It would be a complete disaster for South Korea if the Norks suddenly fell. The South would be morally, politically and ethnically obligated to feed and manage the newly freed people.

The North Koreans have been malnourished for generations to the point of health problems and sometimes even brain impairment. Their infrastructure is primitive, to put it lightly, and they're one of the poorest countries in the world. South Korea can't afford to take care of them for the next 20 years while their society rebuilds.

no
this was true with yeltsin before him, that guy was a pretty powerless puppet who got drunk every day while society fell into lawlessness and the mafia kleptocrats bled the country dry.
but when putin took over from yeltsin he turned the tables. putins inner circle are all guys who spent their whole lives in various state security institutions. police, secret police, intelligence agencies, military intelligence, those kinds of guys. putin himself is a kgb guy too. together these hardcore glowies consolidated a ton of power in putins hands, and used it to impose their brand of law and order on russia, putting an end to the lawless times of theft and looting that came before.
oligarchs (mega rich businessmen with criminal tendencies) still exist in putins russia, but they survive only by the grace of putin, they now have to tow the line and pay him off for the privilege of being allowed to get rich and stay rich in russia.

As long as he gives those S-400s to Ukraine. The whole reason Turkey got kicked out of the program was those systems, and the risk of Russians learning shit about F-35s through them.

The saddest part is the south had them dead to rights for an invasion for humanitarian reasons in the 1990s due to the "arduous march" and yet nothing happened because the president of SK at the time was Jimmy Carter levels of indifferent. We could've already been 30 years past having two Koreas by now, and instead we have a successful south and a north that is one big cigarette addicted circus with nukes.

not necessarily
there's always the option to turn the north into a dependent territory that is managed and governed by seoul, but does not have political representation, like guam or puerto rico in the US.
