The past week is making me legitimately wonder if Trump waited until '26 to start going balls to the wall for America's 250th. The past 7 days have been more eventful than the entire 4 years under Biden

I am greatly disappointed in the lack of nightsticks. Do better ICE.
Night sticks have been retired for those telescope batons. They probably have them but pepper spray and tazers are better. Imagine how much energy you have to burn beating one of those lard ass liberal arts majors with a whoop ass stick until they actually feel it.

Eco was right about that, but he failed to note that this phenomenon is not unique to "fascists" (right-wing authoritarians), but is also found amongst the left-wing ones as well. In fact, I would argue that it is even more pronounced on the Left.
it's a universal propaganda tactic, you see it everywhere

venezuela:
>americans are weak decadent capitalists who can't touch our glorious bolivarian revolution
>americans are also an overwhelmingly powerful evil empire that is at fault for ruining our economy with blockades and sanctions

islam:
>infidels are pathetic dogs who fear the might of allah, victory for the glorious mujahideen is assured
>infidel colonialists and their jewish machinations are at fault for all our states failing and collapsing

russia:
>america is a failing dying empire desperately trying to cling to what little relevance it has left!
>american imperialism is a grave danger and existential threat to poor innocent russias national security!

nazis:
>jews are pathetic subhuman parasites who are good for nothing and do nothing but ruin everything they touch!
>jews secretly control the whole world through secret conspiracies and financial networks that go back hundreds of years!

USSR:
>capitalism is slowly dying, the rise and triumph of world socialism is inevitable, we will bury you!
>capitalist pigdogs are ruining everything with their economic and financial systems and made our glorious socialist state collapse while america prospers!

The Venezuela attack had me saying that to my friends IRL. I think it's genuinely true.
I feel like Trump saw 2025 as the last chance for doing it "by the books", that he might be able to do things the "right" way and have it work this time because he isn't getting sabotaged with bad allies like his first term; and then obviously that didn't work so 2026 is go time (plus getting shit done in 2026 instead of 2025 will energize the voting base for midterms).

He's a showman, I believe he has some big things in his pocket that he always planned to save for the 250th. He even said early in this term that in a way he was lucky to get cheated out of 2020 because now he gets to be in office for the 250th, he's been thinking about it since before he got reelected probably

You know that Umberto Eco quote leftists love to bring up, about how fascists present their enemies as both weak and strong as it suits them? I guess communists have the inverse strategy, pretending to be simultaneously strong resistance fighters while also being completely helpless bystanders who simply want to live in accordance with the law.

Eco was right about that, but he failed to note that this phenomenon is not unique to "fascists" (right-wing authoritarians), but is also found amongst the left-wing ones as well. In fact, I would argue that it is even more pronounced on the Left.
I'd just like to add that Umberto Eco was a godless pinko faggot and his 14 points of 'ur-fascism' are even gayer than Woodrow Wilson's, it's all either sneeding about anyone right of center and/or thinking the Enlightenment maybe wasn't all that it was cracked up to be, or so broad and generic that they could apply to literally any other political persuasion as well (like the aforementioned point about pretending your enemies are simultaneously stronk jackbooted tyrants and pushovers who can be toppled with ease if you just sack up to commit a lil' direct action).
