It’s the issue that’s happening all over: you can’t fire over 1.1 million people and counting due to AI, then gouge people on fucking everything from yoga pants to fast food to housing, and then expect record returns. It’s why everyone from Lululemon to Blackrock to McDonald’s are all struggling. Not every business can make record profits. Not every business will succeed just by jacking up prices on everything and expect people just to take it if it’s something as frivolous as yoga pants. If people run out of money, they’re going to be cutting back on spending, not because they want to but because they have no choice but to.
