You have to consider the shooting from the perspective of the person taking the shot, not someone who watches the video 20 times in a row on slow motion from 30 feet away. All that needs to happen is for it to be reasonable from his vantage point to believe he's in grave bodily danger and can therefore use deadly force.

He's walking in front on the vehicle even as she's backing up. Only when she transitions to forward does he snap into action and unholster his handgun. In a split second as he hears the engine rev and sees the vehicle moving towards him does he make the decision to shoot. He's looking at her, the driver, not the angle of the wheels.

Is it reasonable for him being in front of the vehicle, hearing he engine rev, and seeing it move in his direction to think she might be running him over? Yes. From our perspective can we see that she would've turned and narrowly missed him as she tried to escape? Yes. Does that matter? Nope.
