If you're just counting calories and protein your diet will naturally trend toward this way of eating too, there's it's not even that carbs are bad, it's that carbs are calories. It will be interesting to see who continues building and what they build. The housing market is currently fueled by the ability to hire illegal labor to assemble plywood and charge ridiculous amounts of money for it, which groups like Blackrock or foreign entities will happily pay. Line must go up but the possibility of housing construction flat-lining is there.

Stopping them from buying more houses is the first step to the longterm solution, if they can only rent out what they already own but can't acquire more inventory, over time they lose inventory to market attrition, and as the share of houses owned by individuals vs corporations improves, the pressures raising rent prices evaporate, eventually making it economically unviable to keep renting them out and pressuring the companies to sell off the rest. Congressional codification is key here, because this absolutely has to be solidly in place for the long term, if it can just be undone by the next globohomo administration then the pressures won't even happen, the companies will just try to hold out and wait. I'm not disagreeing with you necessarily, but this is the right track and may be enough to do the job if the government commits to it fully
