He's being glib, we don't know the details of Ian's dad yelling at him. The only example that Ian actually gave was when Ian dropped a dresser on his dad and he yelled at him. I don't feel like looking up the exact details right now, but as far as I remember, Ian had let his dad's pet snake out of it's tank and it crawled under a dresser. His dad had Ian hold the dresser up so he could crawl under it and grab the snake, but Ian saw a spider and dropped it on him. 20 years later Ian went on the Smosh podcast and complained how mean daddy was for yelling at him. The fact that his dad didn't ground or even spank him for this is actually admirable, but maybe he would have turned out better if his father had taken a firmer hand.

And what he can't say about her other food he definitely can't say here. She's being SUCH A GOOD WIFEY MAKING FOOD FOR HER HOMESICK LOVED ONE!!!
I can't help but feel a little bit bad for him still whenever I remember that he's always said he doesn't care much for food and then Anisa made it her life's mission to "find food that he likes" while working around his speshul diet restrictions and it's just meant greasy pastries that make him shit himself and now shitty cold Mexican food that is definitely also making him shit himself.
