As an actual goth, I doubt the troon subculture will be able to persist like the goth scene has. Goth is a music based subculture, if goth and/or industrial is your favorite kind of music then you are a goth. Even if you wear hawaiian shirts and kakhi shorts. There will always be a sizeable number of people who will want to listen to siouxsie and the banshees or faderhead. Troons arent, its just a fetish. And while goths can just overhaul their wardrobes and get rid of their Type O Negative CDs if they really dont want to be goth anymore a troon will be stuck with his angry inch for life, there is no going back. I highly doubt future generations will sign up for that, it will end up being viewed the same way as we view the lobotomy today and go back to being a tiny underground group of sick perverts like it was before the 2010s. Also consider that hardly any of these people who became nonbinary/transgender are old enough to really experience the long term side effects of hormone abuse yet. The millennials who spear headed this shit in 2012 are in their mid 30s.
