I literally used AI today to subtitle and translate a Russian video today. Was it accurate? Close enough. It took about 3 minutes.
Good luck, ArmzGurl.

That's so fucking retarded. Not only that she sees this as her career but that she's demanding such a large amount for it.She'd go on and on about how she doesn't do translations, only captions as if that's a better thing. If you're not doing live with TV, court reporting, or some deaf phone service it's such low skill I don't know why anyone would pay for it more than min wage and demand it done in under a day per 4 hours of content.
That would at least qualify as a career. I mean you show that you can translate and localize your subs while getting the timing on the captions right then you could carve out a little niche for yourself. But this? It's monkey work at best or since this is Armzy we'll say orangutan work. But if she could do translation, video editing, or basically anything the fuck else regarding supporting content creation on a platform like youtube she'd actually have more opportunity for work because there are plenty of youtube content creators who don't want to do that shit themselves and hire people regularly. Instead she's proud of being at the literal bottom of the barrel regarding commercial Anime localization for the US.
Remember, she doesn't do translations purely captions. And not live captions, she does it with a script most of the time. All she fucking does is add the descriptive shit like "music playing" or maybe the name of a character speaking if it's not apparent due to camera angles. And this somehow takes her weeks at a time for a 12 episode anime series(because she admittedly slacks off). She doesn't even do the normal subtitles as a part of localization.
She’s not even in a part of the localization process where she can be involved in culture war things. Lame.Seriously? And here I thought she was at least doing translation services and going from there.
I didn't think my opinion of her could have gotten lower but there we go.
Fail out of community college in early 20s, do a few God awful laughable 'movies' and videos in late 20s. Spend entire 30s tweeting and taking 8 months to compile a stalking video on some no-name guy in the industry. E-beg constantly then go to disney and buy computers with the proceeds all publicly. For years. She’s not even in a part of the localization process where she can be involved in culture war things. Lame.
She probably won't do translations because her Japanese is too poor for her to qualify for the job. But considering she's an admitted slacker, which honestly doesn't surprise me about any CA person, they all slacked off, she probably only has job security in that anyone else would find the work too mind numbing to bother with. She'd go on and on about how she doesn't do translations, only captions as if that's a better thing. Vic is not exactly a no-name.Spend entire 30s tweeting and taking 8 months to compile a stalking video on some no-name guy in the industry.
I mean he's not famous either. At least not outside of Anime, Star Trek, and VA work.Vic is not exactly a no-name.
Even then I wouldn't call him "famous" within Star Trek. The fan show shit is a niche within a niche.I mean he's not famous either. At least not outside of Anime, Star Trek, and VA work.
I think of the English language VAs, he'd be the most likely that someone actually heard of. So American weebs basically.I mean he's not famous either. At least not outside of Anime, Star Trek, and VA work.
Really? At this point just for anime Steve Blum, Matt Mercer(and a bunch of the rest of his critical role pals), Johnny Bosch(yes the power rangers guy), and plenty of others would be more known than Vic just for anime. Vic has hardly done shit in the past 7 or 8 years but even then Steve Blum always had more roles(to the point of him being one of the reasons so many anime casts on cartoon network sounded the same).I think of the English language VAs, he'd be the most likely that someone actually heard of. So American weebs basically.
I think you could put Chris Sabat and Sean Schemmel above Vic as well.Really? Definitely. There really is just a long list of people that even 10 years ago I'd have put way ahead of Vic in terms of being well known in anime. Even at the height of his popularity, it was mostly a vocal minority of female weebs between 15 and 25, who liked dubs, and were fans of a handful of specific shows and most people outside of that didn't know him or didn't care until the kickvic/iswv shit popped off where suddenly so many culture warriors on both sides were definitely long time anime fans(they were not, they were grifters) and specifically fans of Vic that were supportive or angry at him because they felt "betrayed" or whatever the hell.I think you could put Chris Sabat and Sean Schemmel above Vic as well.
And here we'd have mostly exhausted the names anyone but the most hardcore of weebs would know.I think you could put Chris Sabat and Sean Schemmel above Vic as well.
I.E. someone actually worth mourning.Chibi did a memorial funeral thing where he sung some songs for Satoru Iwata.
Dumb cunt is claiming to have PTSD because she saw someone hug someone in an elevator about a decade ago.Presented without comment.
Dumb bitch doesn't need a therapist. She needs to log the fuck off of the internet and get a job.
tbf she probably could use a medical psychiatrist like they said, not therapy. As in lots of Thorazine or whatever anti-psych meds Spoony is on.Dumb bitch doesn't need a therapist. She needs to log the fuck off of the internet and get a job.
What is even the audience that she's targeting/"defending"? Sure, there are a lot of people watching anime, and there's definitely deaf viewers among them. But how many of those people refuse to read the standard, translated subs and instead want transcripts of the dubbed dialogue? Is there a "sub subtitles" vs "dub subtitles" debate going on among deaf weebs that I didn't know about? For only the price of $150 per hour of video, you can let Armz caption your media and make sure that the poor deaf people watching dubbed anime with shitty localization and no TL notes will be able to understand the background music that is playing on screen.
