This isn't the Cold War anymore, nukes aren't much of a factor on the negotiating table despite their destructive capabilities. Cuba is such a poverty-stricken shithole that I doubt even modern-day Russia would care much for it if it were 'liberated'. Hell, Putin would probably thank Trump for doing so if it means not having to watch over it anymore. If this was back in the 60's when Communism was all the rage in the eastern European world, then I could see what you mean. Too bad time's changed.

Venezuela is such a big nexus of fuckery for America’s enemies (within and without) that this move will facilitate a lot more “cooperation “ with nations in our hemisphere. More likely it'll be Columbia that goes first, considering it shares a direct border with Venezuela

I think Colombia will be addressed via elections, since they have theirs next May 2026, while Brazil's elections are in October 2026.

So Maduro may be a one-off in terms of military action.

The Cuba comment is interesting though, considering how weak the country is right now. If Cuba is democratized during Trump's term, it will cause endless sneething among the leftists.
