We're back to my "every PPP story is multiple stories" thing, but at the time he was exiled to the cabin because he was barely on speaking terms with his family, but they didn't want him to go homeless. The exact details of why he was exiled from essentially his entire pre-surfer life have varied considerably in the retellings and he has waffled between accepting blame him self, essentially blaming the a-logs, and a socio-political narrative about being a young white man abandoned by the boomers in his time of greatest need.
