It's not acceptable. It's trashy, a bad look for the US, and not how the game is played.
However, who's going to stop him? He refused to give up his iPhone for a more secure device in 2016. No one stopped him then. He refused to do what every president with business interests did before him, sell the business or take steps to not be in a position to even look like he's personally enriching himself during the presidency. No one stopped him then.
The list of "minor" violations of rules and customs and even laws he commented his first term is already as long as this thread. He was rightfully impeached twice. He was accused and found guilty of multiple felonies. He was held liable for sexual assault.
He's been sued in his capacity as ceo and personally thousands of times.
And look what all that got him: no consequences.
He acts the way he does because he thinks no one can or will stop him.
And he's right.
He's just another lolcow with money and power.
Which is why I get frustrated with the liberals who say we should be doing more to remove him. How? We're a minority in Congress.
Everything he's done this term is arguably impeachable offenses, hell just the Trump 2028 hats alone could be claimed to be at attempt to overthrow the constitution and destabilize the country. But they've tried that, twice.
I'm not trying to doom post, but rationally, there's nothing to be done but wait it out. I still believe that scotus won't allow him to run again, because I don't see how they can possibly wiggle around such plain language. The blue states can/will just refuse to put him on the ballot. They're already drafting lawsuits for that, just in case they need them - I don't personally know that for a fact, but they would have to be pants on retarded to not do so, and they are not that retarded.
