The problem with the Jim Carrey How The Grinch Stole Christmas is that it gives The Grinch a backstory and a legitimate motivation to hate the Whos and Christmas. Same with the Illumination CGI version.

I don't like Christmas Vacation, I just don't find Chevy Chase funny. Like its one of those movies people always claim to like but its not that good.
