More pointless Wunderwaffe that will cost billions, take decades to make, and somehow be even less useful than the ancient Iowa class battleships were in the Iraq War.
Obviously it's all for show but it's still a monumental waste of money.
China is like our number one geopolitical threat, so investing in the Navy doesn't seem crazy.

There's two narratives here.

The first one, which a lot of people here are saying is "Hero Patriots Wreck Jeet."

The other is "Trump appointee tricked and tried to be discredited by Deep State Agency Lifers who want to destroy Trump's agenda."

In your fervent desire to see Jeets get owned, consider the latter.
The idea of putting an incompetent nightmare Jeet in charge of Biden's censorship team is bio terrorism, and I'm here for it.

what if we strap a bunch of EW stuff on them
Oh I certainly think there are ways to protect them/beef up their defensive capabilities. I really think the best option would be to create a new class of ships that maybe three large caliber guns on them, but ships that could be faster than the old battleships but still provide heavy bombardment capabilities without relying solely on offensive missiles.

Investing in making battleships that will just be target practice for the Chinese hypersonic anti-ship missiles is retarded.
The US should be investing in their our own anti-ship missiles and get the faggots in the MIC to stop overcharging them on everything. Has everyone forgotten about the soap dispensers that were put at an 8,000% markup?

US air surveillance technology makes hiding anywhere above 10 feet underground an exercise in futility.

It is amusing that the Venezuelans think they'd be dealing with a traditional ground-based offensive when 90% of the job could be done without a single boot on the ground, and the remainder being supported by technology that makes hiding damned near impossible.
The guerrilla groups aren't going to be ideological to the point you can't buy them out just by offering them a better deal than scrounging around a mountain.

Give them a couple months with no direct support and they'll be ready.

Sir this USPG2, not Ultimate Admiral Dreadnoughts.
what is more politically american than talking about just exactly what military hardware we'll use next time we invade the middle east?
I can't wait to see Venezuela's navy in action. This is their motto.

i made a breakdown of this back when trump was baiting them, but venezuela's navy is also only 34 boats. they are THOROUGHLY fucked.

people don't realize how much support america's other regional enemies were giving groups like the taliban and isis to keep them fighting america.

meanwhile, apparently 5 days ago venezuela started sending 'escorts' with its tankers because of our blockade.

What if we launch a bunch of these fuckers to take down the missiles

Missiles are great but sooner or later you have to actually go somewhere, especially if you're fighting over Taiwan. I don't see why we wouldn't want both better missiles and better boats.
