Just department made a statement saying they were applying the same redaction standards to politically exposed individuals and government officials as it did to victims.
The legislation of course did not give them the right to do that. So the DoJ is basically confirming they weren't complying with the release they were mandated to do.
I think the Bushes mostly just hated Trump and this year especially hated how Trump wanted to undo any progress Bush had pushed for with USAID in places like Africa. It was honestly one of Bush's main accomplishments in office.
