How can you not have shoes and bug out bag prepared if you are aware you might suddenly have to run to a shelter.
Because people are stupid cattle. You'd think, at least the Ukrainians, who're droned on the regular, would understand to always be on alert and perpetually cautious, but you find regular videos of people gathering, not carrying around first aid kits wherever they're going and going in close proximity to easily visible targets.

I disagree, they know exactly what they're doing. EU leaders know that their economies crashing through the floor is a certainty now
the madmen and madwitches in Bruxelles have bet the house on the ukrainian war. they shot their foot by cutting themselves off russian energy. they shot their other foot by cutting themselves off their best and largest export markets,(and at a moment where USA wants to limit imports) and they are shooting their ball off by stealing the russian money.
why they keep doubling down is pure madness, and as i already said, i think we havent seen anything yet. if Col. Baud is right, and he often is, they will send troops to ukraine to get them slaughtered trying to force US to get involved directly. that would explain the recent NSS, that leaves the euroworms out in the cold. it must be feel desperate in EU headquarters, however it must be clear the euromads dont give a rat's ass about european citizens, who will be the ones paying the consequences, as usual.

while I feel that European support from the population regarding continuing the war on Ukraine is declining, it's looking like Europe has no idea how what the fuck to do IF the war ends

european so called leaders are hell bent on continuing the war and bar something radical from the US, they will do it, no matter the cost. Rutte spelled it out very clearly. europens better be ready for real shit happening very soon.

but if the money they confiscated from Russia has already been spent

that is what many say but i dont think they spent it else they would keep very quiet about it.
there is however a chance that the money has been tied as collateral multiple times already (and that explains the clever plan to freeze the funds indefinitely) and will be tied a further time to give the goblin " a loan ". rich kickbacks will of course flow.
i expect new taxes for the already cash strapped europeans.

That's what they are. They've gone mad.
they were mad to begin with. you only need to listen to dracula or kallas for 30 seconds to realize that.

fun fact. i was in italy meeting some friends and thought to do some shopping in a large low cost supermarket beside the hotel.
except that i didnt buy anything. prices of groceries and house items are higher than in Switzerland. how the hell the italians can survive, with salaries that are a third of the swiss ones, is beyond me. and that was Milano, one of the richest areas of the country.
before C19, swiss went to italy every weekend for shopping. now the opposite is happening.you know something is seriously wrong when italian coffee is cheaper here than there.
a cheap comb was 5 euros. thats 10000 of the old liras, which at the time would buy you a pizza, a beer and a dessert.
this is not sustainable. no wonder the EU leaderships only see a major continental war as their only option to survive.

that is what many say but i dont think they spent it else they would keep very quiet about it.
Point of disagreement there. It would come out sooner or later, and if Trump manages to secure some kind of agreement, then sooner. Seizing and loans lets them pull all kinds of crap to try and conceal their pilfering later on. Or to try saying "well we did but it doesn't make any difference because we ended up seizing them anyway".

Ukrainian soldier gives a nazi salute to a drone before it kills him.

Ballsy but did he mistake it for an allied one?

I would have tried at least to get behind a tree. There was a large tree nearby.

Do drones carry some type of flag? Or are they just unmarked? The only logical answer I found if he thought it was a hohol drone and realised too late.

Do the drones carry those vacum/pressure wave warheads that use air shockwaves to kill, not fragmentation?

I had the same thought. I'd give good odds he thought the drone was on his side. Why? Could be any reason he just thought it'd be an Ukie drone from having seen Ukie drones just passing by, to thinking he was far from the Russian assaults, who knows? Just something about the way he stands aside and looks at it makes me feel like he thought he was greeting something than defiantly facing down an enemy. And it's not like a good dive away might not save you from a drone.

Who knows, but it's worse if he thought he was saluting his comrades because that doesn't just mean he's a Nazi, it means he assumes his comrades are as well.

The EU leaders are all in on Ukraine. All in. They have no other path left. I don't know what is going on in private, what kind of hook they are on. They're like some lost gambling addict who is deep in the hole, it's 3am, they're trying to borrow money from their friends in the hopes of winning it back. Their friends are saying no but they're grabbing him by the coat lapels and screaming: "you've got to lend me the money. I can win it back."
It feels unironically very much like the shitstorm that followed the death of Stalin. No European leader (read, USSR candidates) cannot even HINT at not following the global agenda (read, party line) as they'd be accused of being a Russian sympathiser (read, traitor). It's such a weird thing, it's like there's freedom to discuss Ukraine as long as the question is "How much more can we give them?

I'll say this, it genuinely feels like this subsection of KF is the only place on the internet where this can be discussed. Being generally anti-Ukraine or thinking that Russia is winning is somehow even more taboo than the worst thing you can imagine. It's like I'm living in an alternative timeline where Ukraine has taken tanks all the way to Moscow and evil Putin is refusing to surrender, there's a core belief that despite Russia controlling around a 1/5th (I can't remember the actual number) of Ukraine that Ukraine still has the upper hand in negotiations. Any rational discussion is removed and replaced with "The war will end when Putler withdraws" or "UNTIL THE LAST UKRAINIAN" or some shit.

So if this is so taboo for the average citizen, I get the feeling that it's too taboo for anyone in power or military leaders or advisors to mention, for fear of being labelled a Russian asset and a traitor to their country.

Who knows, but it's worse if he thought he was saluting his comrades because that doesn't just mean he's a Nazi, it means he assumes his comrades are as well.

Eh, the problem is, whoever wins, we all knows these slavs will be getting replaced by infinity Pajeets who will be more criminal, more scammy, more rapey, more violent than the drunkest of slavs of whatever flavour you like.

If he was boxed in and knew he was about to die anyway, I can see why he would just salute it, the local way of giving it the finger.
I would have done the same thing in his place, or even rammed the drone to make sure it got me quickly instead of just tearing my legs off.

But I didn't saw any enemy fire hitting stuff around him, he was standing in the clear so clearly he wasn't worried about snipers either. So it doesn't look like he was already doomed and knew it, bullets and shells landing all around him.
It was rather a peaceful forest scene with him looking around as if he was just intrigued by the bark.
Either he mistook the drone for an ukranian one by accident or the drone was wearing a false flag and was made to look ukranian, but are these drones even marked to show their allegiance to begin with?

War changed, at any point a drone can kill you. You can't even know which one because if you shoot all drones half of them will be yours. Its not even like the US reaper drone that you can identify as a glorious example of MIC grift by shape and style, they are all the same Made in China quadcopters with a jury rigged explosive. Very orky.

I'm confused as to how the hohols scraping together and launching 300 drones into Russia is supposed to be impressive when the Russians have been capable of hurling 500+ Gerans into Ukraine per day.
I wonder how many Flamingo missiles the Ukrainians are working with now; I'd imagine that the program is already hallowed out considering how unimpressive the whole thing was.

@Tom Nook's Gloryhole There's https://www.moonofalabama.org/ which is someone's very old school blog where the author writes analysis and the comment section has a lot of longer comments and discussion by the regulars. But other than that I don't know much in the way of real discussion like this. A lot of the rest is just comments sections under videos of people like Weeb Union. Not really a format that lends itself the way this does.

The viewpoints are out there. I looked at comments under the BBC article on the asset freezing out of some mad and regrettable impulse. I've never seen so many "Removed Comments" and I don't know what that is all about. But there were a smattering of non-conforming comments, perhaps one in ten. On the Daily Mail article, you could see the voting on comments and it was more balanced than the BBC (amusingly) with maybe up and down votes one third against Z-Man and two-thirds for. A fair few of them were less "pro-Russia" and more just 'Zelensky is an idiot' or 'This is unrealistic' takes.

Those positions are reasonable. I'm not even exactly pro-Russia myself on this, though I've drifted more that way the stupider the EU leaders and Zelensky behave. The human brain is somewhat wired to want to choose between two options always. But what I really want is a stable and lasting peace. And restored trade relations. I consider a Russian victory likely the quickest way to get to those but I'm not naive (completely) nor thinking this is Goodies and Baddies. However, of this thread and the Ukie thread, this is the one I settled on as the one with the highest information content and the greatest tolerance for different views. I try to look at the other from time to time for balance. Not all the posters there are insane.

But it's sadly not just this topic. The sort of space for discussion that used to be common on the Internet has been driven to the very corners of the Internet now, like this place. I've said elsewhere that people often think propaganda succeeds or fails based on whether it convinces. But people rarely change their minds. Propaganda has another purpose, maybe even its primary - it lets you know what you're allowed to say and not, what will get you exiled from discussion or show you're on side. Based on votes I've seen on comments sections on other sites, the non-aligned views are certainly out there. But those holding them mostly have a pretty good idea what side of the line those views will put them on. So they share them more with close friends or family.

You can only hold reality at bay for so long anyway. That's what the "Reality is a social construct" crew don't get. You can make people say the rain is sunshine, but eventually people notice they're getting wet.

I guess the next Geneva Convention is going to have to come up with rules about marking your drones and it being a war crime if you dress your drone in the wrong uniform. Fun times.

I'll say this, it genuinely feels like this subsection of KF is the only place on the internet where this can be discussed.
LOL! Yeah, in segregated threads!

They literally cannot make the connection that every time they strike Russia with drones there's an even bigger counterattack. The time he spent gloating should have been spent packing a grab and go bag and ensuring he knew the route to the emergency shelter. But if Ukrainians could even make this bare basic connection the war would be over.

From what I know if the situation in Ukraine, it's possible that he was completely broken and knew he was fighting in a war that they would never win and being screwed over by his country. He might've welcomed death. That looked more like a "hey I'm over here" wave then a Nazi salute.

They learned the exact wrong lesson from the world wars, where they can be used as an excuse to reset the economy. So they desperately want a Patsy to trigger a world war so they have the excuse, but Russia won't play ball because their economy is flowing relatively well and literally the best way they can destroy their enemies is by holding back. I bet that Russia has a contingency where the very moment that Europe declares war and moves to mobilize they will get Oreshniks fired at all key points responsible for the war (badly kept secret bunkers, ammunition repositories and factories, BlackRock headquarters, private villas of the people in charge, etc). However Russia has likely come to the conclusion that Europe would implode first as long as Russia refuses to rise to the provocations.

If you look at the sister thread to this one, almost all the recent highlighted posts are just drone footage. When you're losing on every strategic level, you have to celebrate tactical victories no matter how insignificant.

I mentioned the site Moon of Alabama. I hadn't looked at in ages but it's still there and doing its thing. The author has his summary of the freezing. It's a decent capsule description of what just happened:

What tickled me was Orban's comments which I had not actually read directly until just now:
1765653486030.png

"Brusselians" amuses me. It sounds like a people from Gulliver's Travels.

The subject matter is a little less amusing though, given how wide the fall out will be if and when the EU goes into a catastrophic economic slump. Who will they blame this time when the next Austrian Painter arises? Or will the next Austrian Painter be a lesbian with a Sri Lankan wife? Stranger things have happened.

Moon of Alabama also links to this:

It's just a summary of what we've discussed but a bit more detailed. It seems that Belgium is rapidly trying to make amendments to the seizure bill, filing dozens of pages of them already. It also includes this absolute gem of a quote from the Belgian Prime Minister:

"This is money from a country with which we are not at war," De Wever said, speaking to reporters at the Belgian parliament. "It would be like breaking into an embassy, taking out all the furniture, and selling it."

I am honestly not used to this level of forthrightness from European leaders and I'm a little nervous how close to Doomsday we may be getting, when politicians speak the truth. But balance is preserved I suppose by the bullshit response from the Commission:

In response to the criticism, a Commission spokesperson said that it was "reasonable" to argue that Russia's war has gravely endangered the European economy as a whole and that, as a result, Article 122 was an appropriate legal basis.

Ooookay.

The article also brings up something else I was not aware of. We know the Russian assets are €210bn and that the EU is potentially agreeing to cover this risk for Belgium. But it turns out that already eye-watering figure is not enough. Belgium also wants a guarantee that any other costs such as judicial fees and fines that are imposed on it get covered. Smart Brussels! Oh, and an extra amount to ensure Euroclear retains liquidity. It just keeps adding up.

All of this backing would ultimately be by the citizens of Europe and paid for through the two old standbys - taxation and inflation.

In Capitalist West, bank robs you!

Finally, Belgium is insisting everybody piles in to pay with the Russian assets they hold, not just theirs / Euroclears. So for example the frozen funds France is holding (€18bn allegedly) go into the pot as well. If the Froggies have been hopping into the funds they hold, I guess Brussels is about to find out.

All in all, I was wary of a site called "Euronews" but turned out to be pretty good coverage.

There's also an article up on Naked Capitalism on the legal side. I don't really know them.

Goes into a bit more detail about what the legal process of suing would be. Seems Russia sues in each jurisdiction in turn? So once they get the €15bn Euroclear holds in Russia, they then move on to suing in Hong Kong and Singapore for example. Well, it may all happen at once but separate processes.

There are also apparently other avenues that Russia can sue through as well due to old agreements back to the dissolution of the Soviet Union days that were put in place. This can affect a bunch of Western NGOs including Friends of the Earth. Good - they can stop trying to prevent me having my nuclear reactors! :story:

All in all, this is starting to look like, what's a good way to summarise all of this..., ah - it's starting to look like the Shitfest of the Decade.

Buckle in boys and girls. The big EU meeting is on the 18th of this month, that's next Thursday. €210bn - will Dracula get her hands on it or will the land of waffles fight her off? What I wouldn't give to be hiding under the table when these meetings get going!

Assuming the owner is still "B", MoA is run by an old German guy called Bernhard(sp?). He was a regular commenter over at SST until Pat Lang shit canned him over being a salty bitch and rabid anti americanism. If memory serves, Pat put it down to B, amongst other things, still being salty over the Allies bombing his grandfathers house during WW2. [edit] Im not saying this to disparage the man, but to point out that he has a big blind spot in his ability to analyse things and it should be taken into account. As Pat once told me "consider the information and the source separately". [/edit]
As an aside, I don't know if any of you all were lurkers over at SST while Pat was still alive but I wish there was an archive accessible still because that place was an absolute gold mine. Shame it went to shit after TTG took over and now seems to be dead.

Reddit meme, but intresting summation of events pointing out how Merkel has done more to help russia the "traitor trump" ever did.

One has to wonder how the outcome of the war would have been different if Merkel didn't present europe's balls to Putin on a vice one day for no reason at all. If you told me Merkel was the traitor I wouldn't have trouble believing it honestly, because its either that or she is literally too retarded to hold office.

Buying Russian gas was never a bad decision insofar as the European economy was concerned. The issue was spending decades trying to push neoliberalism onto all of eastern Europe and Russia to open them to western financiers. You simply cannot negotiate with Russia as if it were some EU country that can be pushed around by dictate. The EU sphere of influence has a border and the eurocrats refused to acknowledge it, which is why we now have a conflict trying to negotiate the border with hot lead.
