If you think that if the Left takes back the Whitehouse in 2028 and they won't go on a massive headhunting expedition for every Trump Admin person they can get their hands on, then I want some of what your smoking.

Recently Rogan had Jensen Huang on, and he poo-poo'd the idea that we would ever be under threat from AI. He basically believes (as do I) that modern AI isn't truly sentient, it's just really fast computing designed and programmed to mimic intelligence but is very good at learning and being efficient.

But he also believes it will NEVER develop true sentience, that it would be impossible. And even if it did, "good" AIs we control would protect us from "bad" KILL ALL HUMANS AIs who might destroy or enslave us. He also laughs off the idea that all the AIs would logically just combine together.

Rogan had Elon on recently as well. Elon believes there is a 20% chance that AI will decide to go full Skynet/Cylon on us, but believes that the other 80% is a future where AI allows for full automation and UBI so nobody has to work again. And when Joe Rogan asked him "so what would people do all day, what would be our motivation to exist?" Elon--had no answer.

I have a theory that part of the reason Judaism was permitted while Zoroastrianism was not is that the Romans associated Judaism with the worship of Saturn. They also would’ve shared common enemies in many of the Hellenistic kingdoms and Maccabees intentionally built an alliance with Rome. I imagine many of the Jews weren’t fond of Carthage either seeing them as idolators. Obviously it later soured with the rise of the zealots, the decline of the macabbean dynasty, leading into the sacking of Jerusalem and the Jewish temple.
