Eliminating most of CAFE standards would be great as are federally accepting kei cars. There are lobbying groups in multiple states convincing local DOT's to stop registering them/revoking registration stating they're "unsafe" for American roads. When its really about farmers buying them en mass and cutting into truck profits. Which are the highest profit per unit (iirc) in the auto market. In my area most farmers have atleast one for spraying, burnings and other small duties. Much more efficiently than what some were doing by buying polaris side by sides
If cafe standards get rolled back, particularly the footprint based MPG loopholes. The primary culprit in cars getting larger and larger as it allows manufacturers to sidestep MPG requirements. Alongside SUV's being classified as "trucks"
I want passenger car diesels. Small light duty diesel trucks. Akin to the VW rabbit trucks or 80's rangers but in selectable 4wd and with DIESELS. Diesels without DPF and Urea. These days if you buy a new diesel truck you factor in the cost of deleting emmisions equipment to ensure its not going to choke itself to death in under 100k miles.
