Registrations for the Jam will close on Nov. 30th

As a hiatused illustrator, I've been chipping away at a fairly involved graphic novel for the last 4+ years -- kind of a serialized, satirical, tran-critical soap opera. I thought about using chapter 1 for the jam -- but it's developed enough that I don't really want to force a kiwi character into the story. So I'm thinking I'll spin off a standalone piece that while spiritually/creatively similar, sticks to the actual rules.

Not sure exactly what that storyline is yet, but I'm ready to give it a shot!

REGISTRATION CLOSING - PHASE 2 BEGINS

This is it. Registration closes imminently. If you’re not already in the roster, you’ve missed it and you’re waiting until 2026. For everyone already signed up, hopefully you've checked out the questionnaire and got your pencils sharpened.
DM chains are prepped and will start going out shortly. Keep an eye on your inbox.
NEXT PHASE: IDEATION + PRODUCTION
We’re shifting gears from “interest” to “execution.”
Here’s what’s hitting next:
• DM chains launch - connect, share work and progress, start building momentum
• Questionnaires - get answering those, they’re meant to sharpen your story
• Team matchmaking active - speak up if you’re still solo or need specific skill support

ONGOING WEEKLY UPDATES
Weekly updates will continue featuring standout art drops, concept snippets, and general stuff from the community. If you’ve been posting sketches, layouts, designs-keep it coming. And if you haven't, get sharin’. It fuels momentum and gets eyes on your work.
If you’re working quietly, that’s fine too. But this is the point where you should start building, not just thinking.

I Was trying to fix up and Linux an old tablet/laptop so I could draw on it but will either have to put up with windows 10 (gross, evil, cringe) or draw with my mouse on my Mint tower, which was my original plan.

KIWI COMIX JAM: WEEK 5 UPDATE
IDEATION PHASE IN FULL SWING

Firstly, sorry for missing the update last week, was out with my wife and kid picking up a Christmas tree.

We are officially deep into Ideation and people are sharing a lot of amazing art in the DMs. Ideas are no longer hypothetical, they’re taking shape on the page. Thumbnails, character designs, rough pages, scripts all in motion.

FEATURED WORKS IN PROGRESS

This week’s update highlights a selection of art, sketches, layouts, and early pages shared in the DM chains. These are not “finished” pieces and that’s the point. This is process on display. Raw ideas, solved problems, experiments that are starting to click.

If you see your work featured, thank you for sharing it. If you don’t yet, that’s not a value judgment. Keep posting. The more you put into the chains, the more this phase works for everyone.


Right now the goal is not polish, it’s discovery. Find the spine of your story. Figure out what excites you enough to keep showing up. Let feedback sharpen the edges, not sand them down.


If you’re stuck, post anyway. If you’re unsure, post anyway. That friction is the work.

Thanks to the kiwis that made this anthology happen! I apologize that I had to change some formatting that people didn't expect to see for I had to fit everything together.
