Russian Special Military Operation in the Ukraine - Mark IV: The Partitioning of Discussion

Russia is controlling something like 92% of Donetsk and demands it in full, but "We do not fully occupy war goal" malus of -1000 is preventing it from imposing its peace terms on Zelensky, as well as the fact it does not occupy the capitals of Ukraine's allies. in Europe Arbitrary Paradox strategy mechanics, amirite?
Imagine the bad boy points (AE, antagonism, take your pick) Russia will get once they annex their war goals in full.

It's happening so fast there's no way to really know. The map updates we're getting are probably already 1-2 days old.
I would be shocked if nearly 4 years into this war it isn't standard practice to only let your guys leak updates after 24 hours. Same goes for pics of flag raisings.

aha yes sure. thats why the factories producing photovoltaic panels, which can get them the cheapest, run their production lines on solar energy
That's a red herring. No one claimed solar is good for everything, even @LordOfZhbagva said that it is situational.
And for that matter, try and fit a coal/gas power plant on your roof.

We'll see what happens, or if. So far, looks to me like the Chinese are doing good work.
That chart is misleading. The Y axis is in %, so declining coal means only that it is declining compared to the total. They can build coal power plants AND nuclear at the same time, and you'll get the same graph. Capacity (GW) would be more informative.

just drop them on an island in the middle of the pacific and see how they manage living off renewables.
Ironically you made the best case for renewable: wood.
You have deep seated antagonism against renewables, the "green movement" and/or EVs, ok.
But please at least argue against what is actually said, not with generic statements.
Solar has its place. Not on fields, but on roofs, where it offers an alternative electricity generation to "nothing".

I might have a stroke if it's the EU who suddenly has to yell "Zelensky isn't a legitimate President though!" I'm only half-way joking, I think we're going to see some version of it. The NAFO crowd won't know what to say after years of defending the suspension of elections.
hehe, you might want to stock up on vicodine.. But I made this point before.

Drawing Umerov as he is would be illegal in at least several countries

Well of course. If they can declare terrorists to be Russian then they can declare it "state terrorism". Kaja Kallas already calling it that and threatening a "response".

EU pulls a Boris Johnson and implies that they will kill Zelensky if he agrees to Trump's peace deal. I mean, it's not a real threat because Kallas does not have enough brain power to make a hidden threat, but that's how it sounds

This statement from Kaja the Krackhead is beyond retarded. Europe has been in the longest lasting period of peace in history due to peace agreements mostly drawn up and enforced by America. Every single European-made peace deal just led to bigger wars a few decades later. The idea that Yuros are even capable of a "just" peace deal is laughable.

The problem for Ukraine is that Russia has had tickers on them for years now and Russian jingoism is so high that they can almost add whatever wargoals they want. Infamy obviously doesn't matter at this point, so why wouldn't they?

no it doesnt. it >does< only because of subsidies, mandates, taxes, market distortions, and people who cant use a simple calculator and cant do maths.
same as those who install heat pumps just because the government says its convenient bro, trust me bro.

i hope i wont have to go through the various baseload, peak load, instant demand etc explanations but in a nutshell, a source that is not dispatchable is useless and nobody would touch it if not forced.

imagine if someone invented an engine that runs using a quarter of the fuel a conventional engine uses, but it delivers power completely randomly, including when the car is parked.
would you consider building a car that, in order to use that engine, has a pletora of accumulators and devices that store energy that you can use when you need it, but you never have guarantee that the accumulators are full so your range is always a question mark? not to mention that the engine might decide to go full power when you are at a crossing and a lorry is arriving.

only someone insane would think about doing that.

non dispatchable, intermittent sources are madness, and often a scam. the amount of money that has been stolen with fraudulent schemes around "renewables" is enormous.

im not a luddite or someone that is opposed to "renewables" because of religion. im someone who has lived at a time when insanity was considered a disease and madmen were kept in lunatic asylums, not running the energy policies of entire nations.

now my question is, do you make your own shoes? your own tires? your furnitures, food? no he? and why? because it would cost enormously more than stuff produced industrially by professionals.
so how the hell people bought into this absurd idea that making your own energy is a good idea and economically viable?

do you think grid operators will accept to run grids that people use only when there is no sun or wind, some sort of giant UPS? lol.

cats are sort of sacred here
How come euro countries have so many stray cats? I'd assume it has something to do with less cars running them over and their need for pest control yeah?
The Russians are currently clearing 3 out of the 4 apartment complex areas in Myrnohrad (I just realized that I've been spelling it wrong 😓). The RuAF will probably clear out the2 northern ones first and the southern one second. They will then move through the suburban areas together and begin clearing the central one alongside the industrial areas. After that there's pretty much nothing left besides a few small suburbs and farm facilities that may or may not even be manned by that point.
Does anybody know why we haven't received very many updates in the Lyman direction? I would assume that it's because the hohols are putting up some resistance in Drobysheve, Lyman, Novoselivka, and Stavky.

Russia is getting Kherson though? It wouldnt be a real victory without it.
Odessa too, perhaps. Cutting off Ukraine from the Black Sea would be a major strategic victory for Russia.

Via imetatronink on Twitter, this is a partial list of the supposed terms from Trump. Note the demand for Russia to hand over children to the Ukrainian authorities.
I want some of whatever they're smoking in Washington.

Trump is about to get $300 billion for his pet projects

I have doubts about an actual battle for Odessa happening simply due to its proximity with NATO member states and the geography of the land in front of it. I do see the Russians demanding it in a peace agreement whenever they finish up the battles in Donbas and beyond.

It would also doom Ukraine to permanent destitution as a welfare state forever causing problems for Russia in the future. IMO that's why Odessa has been left alone for the most part. Leave Ukraine with a sliver of a neutral port and threaten to take it away whenever they act up?

Anyway that's the best I got for why Odessa hasn't been leveled yet.
