Kiernan Shipka is an odd one for me: Sometimes I fancy her, sometimes I don't. She's the reason why I watched Swimming With Sharks, which might have had the potential to be decent series, if it didn't stop at S1.

I also like Celeste Dalla Porta, ever since watching Parthenope. I nodded in and out of the film, but she fits into that vaguely Sophia Loren-style well. She's the only comparison I can give, honestly.

Gary Oldman is a gem in the film, too, as he is in pretty much everything he's been in. Yes, even Drexl Spivey from True Romance. The best thing he's been in so far, as of late, is Slow Horses, though.

I'm also ashamed to say, as someone who's into... contemporary(?) authors and books, that I had no idea John Cheever was a legitimate author who actually existed, until I watched Parthenope.

I was watching the new Apple TV sci fi show, Pluribus. The main actress is 53 and she is beautiful without looking fake or plasticky. She even looks 53, just an amazingly good 53.

The show is really good, btw. It’s “Invasion of the Body Snatchers” kind of thing, but IMO with an underlying message about excessive wokism and the Covid 19 pandemic. The main character is a lesbian, but I think if she weren’t black or a lesbian or something, the whole thing would be too obvious.

I'm not massively into Marilyn Monroe, and I'm not really too bothered for Ana de Armas; I could gladly stare at those eyes whenever I wake up, though; but the thought of Ana de Armas *as* Marilyn Monroe does things to me.

I'm conflicted with being attractive with Monroe since she was exploited during her Hollywood rise to fame coupled with mental health issues that weren't fully addressed. I see somebody that finally gathered appreciation and admiration, but through a monkey paw's wish where all that came at a price.

I'm of the opinion that the fans who truly admired her, and not sleazy old men and politicians, would have stuck by her if she decided to actually stop being Marilyn. Poor girl felt unloved and was afraid to take the leap of faith.

For Marilyn Monroe, what's most attractive (and in hindsight, telling of her state of mind) is her feminine, high-pitched, soft-spoken voice giving a sense of innocence and childhood.
