I kinda understand why kings and hisbfellow nobles were so prim and proper: imagine people taking you seriously if you actred half as brazenly retarded as Elon or Trump.
The kings and nobles represented the honor of their country. Best to act proper and let the other guy slip up first, then you can claim self-defense when you have to put the other guy in his place.
You got guys like Otto von Bismarck or Cardinal Richelieu who mastered the art of manipulating their opponents while always keeping up the appearance of good faith. They understood that you might hate the guy on the other side, but to deal with him, you must treat him with courtesy and respect, while slowly leading him to his doom. In the 1600s, Richelieu manipulated both the Catholic Hapsburgs and the Protestant Germans/Scandinavians against each other, while slowly prepping France to take down both, assuring the rise of French dominance that lasted up to the mid-1800s, when Otto von Bismarck played both the French Emperor Napoleon III and the German princes against each other, to make room for a unified Germany under Prussian control.
Trump and Elon have no knowledge of how to act like that. When they see an enemy, they rage at them. There is no subtlety in their movements; no manners to hide their scorn. It's mostly due to the fact that the power came too easily for them; they don't care if the world knows they're scum. So they act like bullies out in the open.
That's the difference between an actual aristocracy and the bourgeoisie. The former knows that power tastes best when sweetened by courtesy; the latter use their power as a beating stick and don't care if the world sees them as bullies. It's just that, anyone with any survival instinct can tell you that the way the latter acts is a great way to get punched in the face.
The bourgeoisie are sheltered from their bad choices with their great wealth and power; remove that from them, and they're helpless little lambs that are ripe for the butcher's knife, whereas some kings and aristocrats thrived on danger and even lived for it. (LOL King Richard the Lionheart and Lord Byron)
America is just built different. Even our “elites” look like they’re about to get banned from Dave & Buster’s.
I suppose the Dubai elites had to be inspired by something.
