UN We're getting sued for calling a man a man. Yes, really. - TERF news website is being sued in “based” Japan for calling a Taiwanese tranny a man

Reduxx was founded in 2022 as a response to the growing threat gender ideology posed towards women and children. Frustrated by a lack of factual news willing to track the
problem and report on the subject using accurate, biology-based language, a small group of passionate female journalists stepped up and created Reduxx to fill the gap.

Since then, we’ve published almost 2,000 articles — hundreds of them exclusives that made waves around the world. One of our most impactful scoops came just before the Paris Olympics, exposing that two male boxers were competing in the women’s division, a revelation that ignited what would become the biggest women’s sports scandal in history.

From the beginning, we haven't been afraid to call a spade a spade… or a man a man.
And we're finally getting sued for it.

On October 15, 2024, Reduxx published an article titled
EXCLUSIVE: Award-Winning Trans-Identified Male Author From Taiwan Sues Critics Who Say He’s Not A “Lesbian."
The article was focused on a Taiwanese-born writer named Li Kotomi. Kotomi, an author, is a trans-identified male currently residing in Japan.

The article reported on Kotomi's campaign of terror against women's rights advocates, and how he had filed multiple lawsuits and criminal charges against women who refused to validate his identity as a “woman” and “lesbian.”

It also noted that Kotomi had taken literary prizes intended for female writers, and called into question concerning statements Kotomi had made comparing pedophilia to a sexuality.

As always, our article did not participate in validating Kotomi’s self-declared claim to womanhood. We referred to Kotomi as a man, and used “he/him” pronouns throughout. We also included some of his other aliases - including his birth name.
All of the details we published utilized data that was publicly accessible.

Kotomi is now suing us because of this article.

His argument? That it was defamatory, invasive, and "factually incorrect" to refer to him as a man because he is “legally and socially a female.”

Note that in Japan, truth is NOT a defense against such claims. "Outing" a trans-identified male is often held as illegal, and "misgendering" them can be considered a legally actionable "insult" regardless of the underlying facts.

In addition to hefty monetary damages, Kotomi is seeking to compel a Japanese court to order us to remove the article we published about him.

In other words, he believes he can litigate us into validating his identity.

Not gonna happen.

If you're wondering how, exactly, Kotomi filed a suit against Reduxx, which is a non-Japanese entity... this is where it gets troubling.

Kotomi managed to file this suit by tracking down a single Reduxx writer who happens to live in Japan. He collected details on individuals he mistakenly thought were connected to her, along with places he believed she might be, which resulted in an unrelated person receiving the legal notice and contacting us in confusion.

We believe the move was calculated to both advance the suit and intimidate us by raising concerns for our writer’s safety. Perhaps Kotomi believed this pressure would cause us to simply back down and comply.

And that brings us here…

We have found a highly experienced lawyer in Tokyo specializing in free speech eager to take on this case - but to move forward, we must cover his retainer and additional fees.
We also need to fund a court translator, and potential travel to and from any hearings we may be obligated to have representatives at.

Over the years, Reduxx has relied 100% on reader donations, allowing us to remain fully independent. We have always made our content free to access for everyone, and we have never accepted money from political interest groups, investors, or institutions. That independence means we do not have a large reserve to draw from for a legal battle of this scale.

We also have an extremely short window of time to pay our lawyer's retainer and file our response in court... just 5 days.

Help us fight this insanity by making a donation through Stripe, Paypal, or Crypto. Every penny helps!

If men invade your daughter's changing room, you should just ignore it because it doesn't matter anyway. Just let a dude wave his dick around in your child's face.
Everyone is already against child sexual abuse, so there's no point in a news outlet reporting on crimes committed by pedophiles, since it's not going to convince anyone who's on the fence to stop supporting pedophilia. Those reporters are just sad, bitter political extremists who are taking their misery out on the pedos.

Edit: Didn't think people who use this site would need tone indicators, but apparently some of you are more autistic than I thought.

My word, just look at the wizened old crones who run Reduxx! Why, they're practically on death's door. With mere months left to live, they should be spending time with their great-great-grandchildren, not publishing mean words about men online!
They do indeed look like the incel definition of ‘roasties’ actually.

If you really believe that than that's very sad. This isn't some heroic struggle for the soul of civilization like it is in your fantasies. It's a bunch of sad elderly women wasting their twilight years reeeeeeeeeeing into the void about gross faggots that will soon die of AIDs.

Most reasonable people think the tranny shit is retarded and the people that sincerely believe in it are so deluded that there is no way a silly blog will dissuade them.
Why is your profile private tho

The one on the left and right look like old fashioned mothers.
chick in the middle either took a picture at a misfortunate angle or was born with some wonky jawline and chin genetics
Spergery about Japanese history aside, I really do hope that Japan stops beating around the bush and starts digging this tranny garbage out with both hands.

Most Japanese people already don't like this shit but the cucked government never bothers to put up a fight.
The government is more driven by foreign attention than their own people it seems, judging by the way they're now importing jeets.

ll of this Japs were fags talk reminds me of the same thing said about literally every other major civilization
nobody is saying they were all fags but it was more socially acceptable than in the west up to the 20th century. There are plenty of paintings ans writings made by japanese people at the time. I'm very skeptical of the " everybody was gay" narratives myself.
It's just that the idea that japan of all places was corrupted by the west is hilarious, japan is a well knwon exporter of weird porn.

In the fight between TERFs and troons I'd side with TERFs in a heartbeat. Annoying as they can be at least feminists are actual women.

And if it ever comes to that, you're more likely to have a calm discussion about your differences with a TERF than with a troon. All you have to do is not be a spergy retard. Don't be the disgusting misogynistic incel that the feminist thinks you are.

I think a lot of people in this thread conveniently forget that TERFs are not the same lib-feminists that everyone loved to make fun of in 2016. A lot of those "feminists" were very much pro-troon handmaidens, if not trans "women" themselves.

No amount of money that they spend, or that they gain will change the fact that they look like absolute men.
Any win for them is momentary in the long-run because they don't get better with age.

Men and women can age like fine wine if they take care of themselves; but when you pour decades of chemicals into your body, regardless of what they are; you start looking a little fucked up.
Years of estrogen warps your body and your glands as a whole.
Please point to a single gray-haired tranny that any of them wish to look like.

That's a trick task by the way; there's not a lot of gray haired trannies for very obvious reasons.

I would lock arms with the devil himself to cast the troons back into the sea.
For some reason I thought autistic japanese men would innately understand how retarded trannys are but I guess they are full on pozzed
Wait, "back" into the sea? They came from there? This is Innsmouth shit again?

Oh, no, trannies are...

Iä! Iä! Cthulhu fhtagn!

Well it looks like this thread has decided it wants to argue about who's more degenerate than who. But anyway, here's a literal translation of the Japanese defamation law.

Article 230
  1. Someone who has publicly stated a fact that damages another's honor, regardless of whether the fact is true, will be imprisoned for no more than 3 years or be fined for no more than 500,000 yen (currently about $3,200).
  2. Someone who damages the honor of a dead person will not be punished except in the case that the stated fact is false.
Article 230.2
  1. In the case that the act described in paragraph 1 of the preceding article is in regards to a fact of public interest, and its goal is accepted to have solely been in the interest of public good, then the veracity of the fact will be determined, and should the fact be proven to be truth, there will be no punishment.
  2. In regards to the standards of application of the previous paragraph, a fact relating to the criminal acts of a person for whom public prosecution has yet to be filed is considered to be a fact of public interest.
  3. In the case that the act described in paragraph 1 of the preceding article is in regards to a public servant or candidate for public office via public election, then the veracity of the fact will be determined, and should the fact be proven to be truth, there will be no punishment.
So most defenses against defamation wouldn't work in this hypothetical trial. The tranny isn't dead, is not a civil servant, and pretending to be a woman isn't a crime in most circumstances. But I find it curious if calling him a man even meets the requirements to be considered a damage to his honor in the first place. From what I gather from an article written by a Japanese lawyer, for something to be defamation, it has to be a fact that would lower the opinion of the victim from others in society if it's known. Importantly, it has to matter to other people. The fact stated can't simply be something that makes the victim feel bad because it hurts their pride or self-image, if other people don't really care.

So to say that being outed as a guy is defamation is to say that society will think less of him if they know he's a guy, which is nonsense, or if they know he's trans, which might be true but is kind of an own-goal considering they also crow about being trans should be normal and accepted.
