Virginia is basically the crossroads of the East Coast, it overlaps Appalachia, the South, and the NorthEast (culturally in NoVA). Hence the state has rural oddballs that have lived there for generations, and attracts urban/suburban oddballs from all over. The weird glowie presence from proximity to DC, and the various secret government facilities littering the state is just the cherry on top. Not to mention the lingering Civil War ghosts and Native cryptids hanging around too.

I feel weird knowing that Null has spent a long time hiding his whereabouts like Carmen sandiego since I started watching in 2020-21 when he was dodging psycho trannies trying to dox him and stalk him and I then I watch MATI today and realize that I've literally driven by his house a few times and there's no way for me to not feel weird about this.
