Nov 13 (Reuters) - French video game publisher Ubisoft (UBIP.PA), opens new tab said on Thursday it was postponing the publication of its half-year earnings and requested Euronext suspend trading of its shares and bonds starting Friday.

The suspension will remain in place until the company publishes the delayed results "in the coming days", Ubisoft said in a statement.

Honestly they probably could still be making money on the Far Cry formula if it wasn't for the jeet coding and millenial woke writing
I feel like there was never a truly good Far Cry game in the entire series that I could recommend without caveats. Far Cry was a glorified tech demo, Far Cry 2 was a test of the limits of human patience, and all the others are full of writing so astonishingly bad that it detracts from a mechanically fun game.

Ubisoft taught me that out of all the major video game companies, the French are the most subversive and most blatant with what they want you to believe. I hope Ubisoft enjoys niggerdicks in hell.

i already constantly mix up ubisoft and EA, so this is just beneficial to me, now i have less companies to worry about not buying games from.

I do think 3 and 5 are very good, but you have to put up with lots of shirtless and tank top men monologuing at you. Some kind of weird gay fixation they had on men not being fully clothed.

Lol lmao. Who would've thought samurai nigger won't save Ubisoft? It's amazing how they botched AC japan when japan was the most requested setting since decades ago. It's their break in case of emergency and they totally fumbled it.

Wouldn't be surprised if Ubisoft went bye bye.

Already big rumours that they won't be the last big company to fail - SEGA aren't happy with the Football Manager team and rumours are that there won't be any more games in the series because it's far too costly and the SI team 'cannot be trusted.'

Oh for the days when we could play games without some Jeet fucking the servers (literally) or whatever.

Funko Pops should use its remaining cash reserves to buy Ubisoft and then society can have the deal of a lifetime: a two for one burial of 2 shithouse companies.

The Frog government will always bailout Ubisoft, which sucks, we & Ubi's board of executives know that Ubi's salvation will never be found in good developing practices or in creating good games. Arguably, that's one of the underlying dynamics explaining the weakness of their creative offerings, other than the fact that they are frogs. Employees at Ubi are gonna get slaughtered tho lmao.

French gov't is very protective and aggressive about 'protecting' French companies and brands so it's practically guaranteed. Frog cultural chauvinism is too strong for Ubi to completely fall, so much so I would invest in that dead cat bounce.

i don't know, the frogs are pretty busy with a bunch of other fires right now, do they really have the time, or energy, or funding to throw at ubisoft right now?

saving french companies is political victory.
True, but the French state teat is well-calloused, Most countries running a corporate welfare state aren't running France's kind of deep-red spending to maintain parity in various commercial and industrial domains, while also running a pervasive welfare system for its citizens.

The French immolate their republic every 40, 50 years, such that I think bailing out major corps is probably not good for long-term stability if there's ever future resource scarcity/fiscal calamity.

How likely is that instead of bankruptcy or being bought out they all collectively decide to commit Jonestown and go out with honor? That would be objectively the best choice, ethically speaking.

Assassin's Creed : Bankruptcy
Assasins Creed will be fine. It is no longer owned by Ubi. It is now owned that joint venture where TenCent is a major owner.

So, the artistic direction in any future AC game will be under strict control of the Chineese and no longer will fat white women have a say in what gay shit will be put in this franchise.

TenCent and the Chineese wants money, not twitter likes, so the next AC game will have a protagonist that looks like Fabio and all the women in the game will be super hot.
There will also never be a nigger protagonist in AC ever again. Because China.

I just hope the IPs get sold off to better companies that won't shutter them forever as well.
Any investor with half a brain could see the worth in even long dead IP's own by EA. C+C could revamp the RTS genre again, even bring it back to consoles like Red Alert did. Slap some multiplayer in there and away we go.

The Tom Clancy brand is like a trillion dollars waiting to be printed the second anyone who's not retarded gets their hands on it.

Companies sometimes request trading to be suspended.
It is normal to do so when certain situations arise.

They might WANT to provide information but they need time to prepare it. Thus suspending trade in the meantime.

It usually happens when there is information that is expected to have a material effect on the stock price but they need time to prepare and publish information.
Combine this with a fear that the information might be leaked before it can be published to the whole market. Then suspending trade is the prudent thing to do.

In some cases there would even be legal liabilities and material risk of being sued by investors if the DO NOT suspend trading.
New trader as well but Im guessing that means you can't buy put options on it as well?
