Someone compiled a lot of information about Ben on Reddit. I don't think she had any special knowledge or anything, but she does appear to have crippling autism, just like us, and seems to have spent hours researching it. It's an enjoyable read, with lots of information.

There is one big issue in the ben case, where every independent entity looking in to the while thing gets l inexplicably unresponsive or disappeared. Idk if that's still true, but it was for the first three or so people who went over it. So it seems like investigating it isn't much more safe than cave diving.

It's not a horribly complex mystery on the surface- man dies due to misadventure. They do that a lot. But the way so many threads of the story end in, "it's possible that he is in this location... IF he did some watch for rolling rocks .5 a-presses shit" tickles like an itch on a phantom limb.

Sorry to sound defensive, but I mean, you called me a moron. But yes, I do wonder if he just killed himself, and it would make sense. I also read something about how his father was paying his bills as well, so it sounds like he might have had financial issues on top of being rejected.

It reminds me of Justin Burgwinkel, that man who wanted some kind of job in the army or special forces, but he also got rejected, because of shoplifting arrests, I think. His story is even weirder if you want to go down that rabbit hole.

Some people believe that he was legit with his secret activities. But I wonder if he was honestly just lying to look important and maybe he could have killed himself the way Valentich might have.

Justin's story is even more frustrating, tbh, because I've been looking him up and his story is so old that barely anyone talks about it.

I imagine if someone is disoriented from altitude, it might be like when someone is in Everest and they get that altitude sickness that messes up your thinking.

I'll continue it, I guess. One disappearance that I think wasn't a murder is Mitrice Richardson. People like to say the cops were involved but I am not sure they were.

I always thought she had a manic episode, since she was Bipolar, and she walked too far in the hills, got injured or died from falling.

I haven't watched it in ages, but yeah, it was pretty bad. One of my favorite episodes of Unsolved Mysteries is the Elizabeth Campbell one. I mentioned her before on here.

The one thing I will say though, anything can happen when a soldier goes AWOL. Maybe he killed himself, maybe he was killed. I had a family member who went AWOL once, and he just up and disappeared for weeks, he just walked away. The only reason the guy was traced was through his bank statements.

Justin was ages before though, in the 90s. Obviously it was long before people could truly trace his whereabouts. But I know personally how easy it would be for him to go AWOL and never get seen again. I honestly think he killed himself. I no longer believe he was in some secret activities.

At best those cases are suicides. It’s easy to wander off somewhere remote and not have your body found.

At worst they’re kidnapped with a bit of forced sodomisation the. There body is dumped by someone who is competent.

They could have made it up, but what the hell. Cruise ship disappearances always interest me though.

I can't recall her name, but one case scared the shit out of me. There was a young girl who called her boyfriend from the payphone and said that there was some guy watching her. Then he heard the sounds of struggle and the phone went dark. He jumped into his car and drove to that place only to see a strange car on the way there. When they crossed paths he saw his girlfriend tied up on the backseat, so he turned around and tried to chase after that man, but sadly he cooked his transmission with that U-turn and his car broke less than a mile later. To this day it is unknown what it was and the most realistic explanation is that someone tried to kidnap a daughter of a local politician, but mistaken that girl for her. Talk about "wrong place, wrong time".
And speaking about Tara Calico and "the picture could've been of some other crime". Do you remember Umpqua college shooting? For the longest time everyone suggested that the perpetrator Chris Harper-Mercer made a 4chan thread a day before announcing the shooting and everyone lamented that "ooh, aah, why didn't glowies do anything, why didn't anyone report it". Guess what? Not so long ago they revealed that yes, people reported it and yes, they actually visited the OP of that thread AND IT WAS NOT HARPER-MERCER, IT WAS SOME JUVENILE IDIOT WHO WANTED TO SKIP HIS CLASSES!
