Not sure how going from $0.88/lb to $0.97/lb is the lowest price since 2019. Seems like a 10% increase if you ask me.

Amazing how much they had to cut to get to a 25% "savings". Just ballparking it I'd say the same list from 2024 is 10-15% more expensive in 2025.

Believe it or not, Trump's excesses got me interested in researching Henry VIII. A lot of the similarities are uncanny....cruel, gluttonous, smelly, and surrounded by sycophants. He probably would have had Ivana beheaded instead of knocked down a flight of stairs if he could have.

I know average Americans prefer processed goyslop over whole ingredients but it really saves money to do things from scratch. And the common thanksgiving foods share a lot of the same basic ingredients, like flour, butter, sugar, eggs, etc.

Comparing store brands in my high COL area, a 5lb bag of flour and lb of butter cost less than pre-made pie crusts plus gravy mix and cool whip costs more by weight than heavy cream.

American foreign policy is based on the President being a needy attention whore with a severe inferiority complex who wields the United States to get people he sees as the real deal to give him some of their time.

They do this in Russia all the time. Some food is scarce and the price increases, so they loudly declare they're investigating it for crimes, and then a couple months later some report that nobody reads finds that it's just market forces at work and nothing changes.

I love the Tudor history. The interesting thing is Henry famously had a serious head injury that nearly killed him, so people think that might be why he became a tyrant.

I don't think it's accelerationist as much as "the cruelty is the point"; or similar. EBT is for niggers, illegals, and lazy people who just don't want to work. Those groups of people all need to punished, essentially because my tax dollas shouldn't be going to those groups of people; even though a LARGE number of people who hold that opinion are ALSO on EBT. But they're different.

The administration is largely about trying to play to the demographic that holds these opinions. In part because they hold that opinion (minus relying on the benefits), partly because they think is a winning voting strategy (because it is until it affects the people mentioned above; then the government relies on said group of people forgetting it was the Republicans fault by virtue of being in power at the time come election season, which is usually the case), and partly because this administration is just made up on mean people.

My honest take is that Trump feels like he got a mandate from heavens. I don't think he fully understands he could be removed from office feet first.
