Anyway, disappointed about New Jersey but I’ll sleep it off, there’s dozens more elections ahead of me in my life and you can’t win them all. She’s still my home though and I love her.

It’s 4 dem states voting dem in an off year with a rep president, a surface take is this is expected in our current political system and arguably isn’t too far off from 2017, where we even had the Alabama surprise (albeit against the worst possible candidate). Still goes to show the Democratic Party is capable of winning elections, so the GOP needs to take notes on tonight. And simultaneously this thread shouldn’t write off their future odds so easily. Personally, ending the filibuster and passing actual legislation feels like a great way to regain excitement.

A note: usually elections on this sort of off year are not so hyped about. Back in the first Trump presidency the left hemmed and hawed about their blue wave that at best was a small splash in their favor. Yet now there's a bunch of personalities pushing that this is the next big sign?

I see this more for what it is. A thing that's been suddenly brought forwards to feed the democrat base while attempting to demoralize the Maga crowd. The only one of these races that had even been talked about before a few weeks ago was the NYC mayoral election! While suddenly they're pushing for mostly blue leaning states and areas, in a time that a lot don't vote in, that likely doesn't even have many republican poll-watchers to observe any electoral shenanigans? Smells to me like a whole big narrative suddenly being pushed for.

I do hope Trump and the Maga side gets more alert from this though. If only so 2026 and 2028 are guaranteed wins for him.
