I don't think better is the right word, he is very smart, competent and is a perfect foil to Trump, which makes a very good VP. Trump is the old bombastic lightning rod while Vance is the young articulate reasonable one. When Trump steps away, voters can choose to continue the MAGA agenda with Vance who definitely seems like the man to reshape the country past the boomer era of US politics.

I think 30% of the US economy only continues to function thanks to government money. Between direct employees, vendors, NGOs, and grants there are tons of businesses and people who are paid directly or who manage to stay in the black solely due to government funds or the spillover of such.

That's how I feel, but there's so much on Trump's plate that he's trying to address it all. I guess he feels like since the government is shut down, he can try and get his foreign agenda sorted out. The building stuff is what he truly loves, so he can't help himself there. But it was bothering me that he wasn't addressing the current situation at home.
