I’ve been trying to write this for days but whatever I wrote didn’t feel right so it become another in a long list of saved drafts here.
I have to thank sabrina haake and her’s/they’re great diary There's no such thing as Antifa, you eejits (I suspect she’s/they’re a Supernatural fan too. ) for the muse to get it done.
After Hegseth and Trump had their most emblematic of this whole regime meeting “where the non-warriors tell the warriors how to war,” I had a thought, a fear maybe.
I did feel secondary embarrassment for these men, women, and any transgendered left in the military that has made it to the rank of general or admiral. But there was more.
I wanted to do something to remind any that might be wavering that they come from a long line of ANTIFA and we need them there, to hold the line if nothing else. I also worried about the possibility of having another general mike flynn in their ranks.
Even though I am still, at age 63, just as intimated as hell by a general or admiral as I was in my Army JROTC days (I did 2 years of JROTC to get out of the gym requirement in junior and senior high — making it up to Honor Patrol) I decided to find the pictures of World War II generals and post them to Bluesky. I hope(d) that they will/would start getting shared. The more people see them and share them, the more people on the fence might find the courage to stand up, including those in our military be they in active, reserve, inactive duty or retired.
There are so many generals in WWII. I have uploaded maybe 150 — 200 and I’m probably not even an eighth of the way through.
What hit me, personally, as I downloaded their pictures, then fed them into my meme generator, added their names, identified them as ANTIFA, and then posted; What affected me was the overwhelming weight of it all. I looked at their eyes and studied their faces, what they faced, fought for and I knew we, me and my countrymen/women/persons were- are letting them down. And I found a great desire to recognize all of them if I can find a picture.
I decided to take a break for a little bit after one of my Bluesky followers complained about the amount I was posting. When I came back I branched out to find officers of ranks other than general/admiral, the enlisted, women, persons of color, prisoners of war (POWs), killed in action (KIAs), and missing in action (MIAs).
It’s not just for the generals and admirals, it’s for everyone of us who fight this regime in big and small ways, doing whatever we can.
As I went along I found many things.
Hegseth mentioned Norman Schwarzkopf Jr. as an ideal general. This is probably because Hegseth was 10 at the start of the first Gulf War. It’s that war that brought “Stormin Norman” to our tv screens almost every night with briefings.
It’s obvious that Hegseth idolized him, so he over looked or didn’t see/remember General Schwartzkopf’s weigh issues, or more accurately Hegseth’s issues with weight.
Hegseth might also not know that General Norman Schwarzkopf Jr.’s father was General Norman Schwarzkopf Sr. who fought in WWII, making him one of the leaders of ANTIFA.

If the number of memes I’ve posted in this diary seem a little overwhelming, and the amount seems to weigh heavy, it’s supposed too. Seeing the people who fought against fascism, instead of just a nameless bunch of people is important. It helps personalize history.
Look in their eyes, study their faces. These are the people who sacrificed, who fought, who were stuck with lifetime nightmares of what they saw when they liberated the camps, who bled, who died, who stood up to fascism once before and beat it back. Who hoped that we would never be where the US is now.
In a very real sense they are the leaders of ANTIFA. When asked who leads ANTIFA say George S Patton, Omar Bradley, Dwight D. Eisenhower, etc. because it’s true. Americans who sat out, voted for a third party or voted for Trump have let all those people, these warriors, down.
We cannot let those who came before us or let down the generations not yet of age and those to come, down.
If you want to share the memes, please do so. Those who have yet to understand may begin to and to think. Overwhelming your feed is not a bad thing in this instance.

There are more memes of generals than I posted here. There will be more, not just generals, but every American I can find with a picture, who fought. To see them keep watch of my Bluesky page (? is that what you call it?) I try to post at least 10 at a time. To see all that I’ve posted before, just scroll down until you get to General Patton, that’s the first one I made and posted.
