The thing about the AI cooking videos is that it now means he's doing the same thing two weeks in a row -- his version and then the AI version. As an idea, it would be better to have combined and have a side-by-side taste test.

For the cookie one, it would've been better to have seen about setting a basic parameter of the cookies being vaguely of the same style -- such as both being either the weird creamsicle flavour, or both being chocolate chip. I remember the exact day I quit smoking. I didn't do it on purpose, I had repeatedly set a date to quit smoking, never actually did it. Somehow, declaring a date was just declaring a date to fail. Then I wanted to watch the first LOTR movie. I was out of cigarettes. I decided to buy a pack of nicotine gum so I wouldn't have to go out for a smoke in the middle of the movie.

Then after a few days of chewing nicotine gum, I realized why the fuck am I smoking anyway? So then I bought more gum, more patches, and even the nicotine lollipops you could get (those ruled but were outlawed), and tapered down.

The final process of tapering down was so intensely unpleasant (worse than kicking heroin) that I will never, ever do it again. If I even dream I smoked a cigarette I wake up horrified.

That's kind of a myth take the Honus Wagner baseball card which is the most valuable card there is and it's because of 2 reasons 1 he was a great player but 2 he was better human being and hence his card is rare. You back in the early 20th century when he played, they gave the cards away in cigarette packs and Wagner threatened to sue the company if they didn't stop using his likeness with the cards. They offered him a big pay out and he still said no the reason he didn't want kids buying cigarettes. & now his card is hard to find almost impossible.

Yes, for decades the cigarette companies downplayed the health risk, they got doctors to say it was ok like docs today who say "Gender Affirming Care" for kids it good, they portrayed it as masculine or social, but most people knew smoking wasn't good for them and just did it anyway especially if they were addicted. Look at today and smoking is still prevalent it's just hidden go to the back door of any restaurant and you'll see cooks on breaks smoking. Find an outdoor smoking area of a hospital and there will always be a few nurses and aids there and these people work in healthcare.

Meanwhile they knew since the 70's if not earlier how bad it was. They'd commission studies and fudge the results to show it wasn't bad. Or they'd get doctors to testify that smoking wasn't bad for you.

Honestly I find these people to be some of the worst scum out there. They're preying on people and treating their product like it's harmless. Although now they're forced to admit the dangers so they need to add a half-hearted, "smoke responsibly" part to their advertising and admit it's addictive as hell.

Definitely possible. Out of curiosity, which subcultures do you mean?

I know we all self-select our company (consciously or not): My experience has been for every 10 Millennials I know, 2 might smoke cigarettes, and even then it's "social smoking." Most I've met distance from / shudder at the hard-smoking ways of their parents' generation.
