I'll never understand why so many people from countries outside of America think it's a devastating pwn to tell Americans that they're looking down their noses at them. As if the world is a giant high school and Americans will cry if they don't get accepted by the cool girl social club. Last time I checked, there's one Western superpower, and it ain't any of them.
I've also noticed that these people never mention which country they're from. You'd think they'd be proud of their enlightened paradise but, nope, never a hint. Truly baffling.
The Euros have been looking down on US ever since the 13 colonies. One of our most patriotic songs was about how Americans are dumb rubes that was originally sung by the British.
And the funny thing is he's full of shit. I grew up in Australia, I lived there from when I was a baby until I was a teenager. And despite what little coastal city softies think about Americans, there happens to be this area in between Sydney and Perth known as the outback, which makes up about 75% of the entire fucking continent.
Meanwhile, every political story I ever hear from them is a vile mockery of justice that re-ignites my patriotism.
I just remind them how much money and aid we send them to their little insignificant back water country they're in or how everyone was tripping over themselves to come here legally and illegally. They usually don't respond after. In other words they're big mad they ain't us. Hell our stray cats and dogs eat better than 90% of the world.

It's all about the feeling of control. They live in shitholes, they don't have air conditioning, they make $3 an hour, the police participate in gang raping their children, and so on. They have no control over any part of their lives. It's massively traumatizing to them. Sneering at America is them trying to "become the abuser" in order to achieve a feeling of control. But it doesn't work, because eventually they have to log off and then they are back in Hell.
