I can't speak to actual flags but everybody wore confederate flag shirts at my 30-40% black (plus two Mexicans that were forced to learn English) school until they banned them a year or two before I graduated. The only person I remember wearing one after the rule and getting in trouble for it was a black chick. I think part of it was that our school logo/mascot incorporated not the entire flag, but the crossed stars-and-bars, so the flag was basically unofficial school pride

Probably a mistake. Census data indicates the district is 48.8% male and 51.2% female. The main benefit of running her is she is a juggernaut at delivering the male vote. They should wait for an opportunity somewhere like TX-19 or TX-27 where males are over 50%.

The article did say that a gas explosion was believed to be the start of the fire. If you have a big enough gas explosion in your wood-frame house, fire sprinklers aren't going to save it. I will laugh my ass off if it turns out she did have an automatic fire suppression system with auto-dial to 911, and it turns out Paco forgot to correctly tighten a gas fitting when he was last out there for furnace or water-heater maintenance.
