A lot of basic consumer items would make way more sense to produce in the country they are sold in than to ship them. A good example was something people spergged about during covid: toilet paper. It's not complex and it makes zero sense to justify shipping something so basic and cheap from end of the Earth to the other, which is why it's produced locally.

Not only will democrats not win another Presidential election, but I predict the deportations and the crackdown on visas will result in several currently blue states flipping red next presidential election. Closest states up for grab from last election are New Hampshire, and Minnesota. Virginia is another close contender but not as likely. The mass firings of government employees might be (with the aforementioned deportations/visa crackdown) enough to put Virginia over the line. That's 27 electoral votes. Or one-tenth the points needed to win.
NJ is unlikely but also in play. Whether they manage to elect a Republican governer will be a signal for things to come.
