The movie went on for way too long, they could've trimmed half of it and it would've been way better. Everything else was pretty good tho, Warski's impression game is really good tbh. He pretty much got all the mannerisms down, even ones that detractors rarely notice or talk about. Solid 8/10.

They missed an opportunity - when Phil was in Costco and was paranoid and saw the skeleton the skeleton should have said "Look at my skeletons, bitch". They can add this in the special edition.

I agree, Warski was amazing, almost disturbingly good. I genuinely was laughing out loud. The end bit with the lawyer gag, however, I almost want to say went on a bit too long for my taste; they pulled me back in enough at the end for it to not be an issue, though.

I don’t know about suicide ideation, but Phil is a person who lacks a sense of shame and self awareness.
If anybody else got caught jerking it on stream they would have left the internet, he got caught, tried to explain it away and went right to streaming as if nothing happened.

Warski's acting was peak, even disregarding the AI voiceover, he nails Phil's mannerisms perfectly; but I also think PPP as Lou Cypher was genuinely great, something about the way he delivers his lines with that mix of sleaziness and superficial charm just puts a smile on my face

My favorite part from the Costco scene is when he buys the mayo that's not on sale because he's afraid a detractor will see him and spread the word on the internet that he's a poorfag who has to buy stuff that's on discount.

You say that but look at the plethora of internet celebrities with even more embarrassing back stories involving groupies and what not.

If DSP was likeable he'd just be able to own the jacking off thing and be one of the guys because all things considered it was pretty inoccuous and fairly innocent in comparison to everything else that celebs do.

Great movie, if Phil wasnt self obsessive narcissist, he could have made ton of money just doing reaction on it as special stream same as he did with Joons doc. Better go back to reminding audience to keep tipping for hades so its not wage quit.

Rewatching it and 2 bits that really made me laugh;

- Phil continuing to refer to his microwaved breakfast as ‘gourmet breakfast snack pizzas’ like the autistic alien absolutely would.

- Phils fantasy of being in a car with a shirtless Andy and Phil is sat swaying in his own fantasy.

He did state he upgraded his setup massively and the Casino did..nothing? Well if you are already settled in nicely there is not much to update isn't there? Phil came from the basement and probabyl took a few steps. Unfortunately he also broke the steps during it

The movie was absolute pure kino, though a bit slow/repetitive/arthousey for me at times. It felt a little more like Eraserhead than an episode of Twilight Zone for the first half.
It was very good though, makes me wonder if they're aim aim aiming for a movie festival award.
I just hope DSP doesn't fucking kill himself over this, tbh.

There's definitely a debt to Lynch there as well.

Thinking back every single scene I felt was too long were the "prestream" scenes, so I realized that it's most likely intentional. Especially the opening prestream scene is completely superfluous, doesn't contain any real jokes and doesn't even start the plot of the movie but that's the point I think they were trying to make. Phail starts every single one of his streams with a boring Copecast that adds absolutely nothing to the stream. Not to mention, the opening prestream scene shows just how well Tardski managed to capture Phail's character, from his mannerisms to his weird tics. When I saw him do the shaky finger raise into stroke mouth into clap into swaying headbob combo during the first beg I knew he studied Phail's mannerisms closely because he just completely nailed how he acts.

I'll probably change my mind on a second rewatch but my favorite scenes after I finished watching the first time were the Khet dinner snack pizza scene, the Costco scene and the ending.

Only part I felt was dragging was the courtroom section, but the whole thing was so enjoyable I really couldn't care less.

It takes the cake as far as "detractor kahntent" goes. The animations are silly and fun, the songs are something, then there was the puppet stuff.

But live action DSP: The Movie? Oh man, devastating.
