Geno used to be an orbiter of Anthony Cumia and part of Cumia's Compound Media thing. Aaron's old relationship with Geno was Aaron sucking up to Geno as a potential entry point to the compound media family. After April left, Aaron made various promises to Geno and got Geno to help him with his show for a while. But something happened which was likely Aaron made promises he didn't fulfill which caused Geno to full snake on him.

Meanwhile compound Media got shut down and Geno became a sort of dirty unemployed bum that meant nothing to anyone anymore. But for reasons of survival, Aaron did undisclosed things with Geno that brought Geno back on the steel toe side of things.

But I'm not sure Geno ever really liked anything about Aaron other than Aaron sucking up to him and/or giving him money & content. Though at this point Geno and Aaron are both failed dabbleverse guys and one isn't really more important in the universe than the other.

Keeping Geno happy and on-side mattered to Aaron legally through the sentencing in the revenge porn case. But I'm not really sure why Aaron would bother sucking up to Geno in future. In compound media days, Geno could do things for Aaron's career. But now not so much.
