I wonder where shit lies legally. If you are German and talk about german people on an american website that is hosted and has mostly american users, are you fucked?

Null probably reviews the overall posting history for possible candidates and decides based on this. If they're proven to have some sort of presence in other-language-speaking boards, as in around 50% of their posts are other-language then it stands to reason they are selected based on this. Jannies operate based on a system of trust after all.

I see internationalizing the site as a way to grow horizontally and I want to encourage it. I'll be picking some moderators that speak other languages to help facilitate this. I'm not sure what else I can do to encourage growth this way though; it has never picked up steam despite my efforts in 7+ years.

I wish there were an easier way to read about lolcows from other countries without needing to know the language

I'm going to loosen the thread creation requirements for these boards so they can have off-topic discussion and see what happens

The translate page feature on browsers works for the International Clique, for anyone interested.

These ideas all kind of go together. Most browsers these days have built in “translate this page” commands built in. I’m also interested in the new, relaxed, thread creation requirements because I’ve been lurking around International Clique for years, browsing where I can understand & translating via browser or device where needed.

I’ve got a thread idea that I’d like to try, where those with language skills can practice. For example, say that any number of site members speak multiple languages & would like more practice in any given language? I have been playing around with an idea of making a thread, or threads, (or anyone can make the threads) where people can learn from native speakers. My second language is German, I don’t have many people to practice with, I’d like to get to a state where I’m more fully fluent in reading, writing, & speaking. It would be cool to have a place here where the users can have a common language, such as English, to help work on the desired language, in my case German, with native German speakers, all in a thread where it’s not shitting up a main cow thread.

It would be really fuckin’ cool to have threads like that for multiple languages. To practice sounding native or close to. I’d make use of these types of threads for German, French, & Spanish. I have a firm grasp of basic grammar in English, & at least the basics of German, Spanish, & French, & I could conversely offer help to people with basic English structure, or super basic German /Spanish/ French, for other learners. This type of thing could bring more traffic to an international site area. Interested in thoughts on this type of language development thread, please?

I thought of this because one thing that often stops me from posting in IC threads is that I wonder if my skills sound too rudimentary or textbook. My German is generally passable, my Spanish is so/so, if a little formal sounding, & my French probably the worst of the bunch, (except my accent is excellent, but that’s not an issue when reading & writing on a forum.) If there was a place to ask if a post you made in a second language sounded natural or not (in writing,) that could be a cool way to get more people using International Clique.

The main reason i don't do anything besides very basic OPSEC, tbh. I don't do anything illegal, so i don't think they would want to come after me.
But, who knows? Some countries have really draconian anti-free speech laws, to the point where politicians will sue you for saying they're corrupt - even though that's like saying that water is wet, it's something that you can ask anyone and 9 times out of 10 they will say that politicians are corrupt.

On unrelated notes, i gave Disgaea 5 a try and i thought it was cool, but do i need to pay attention to the story? I like story in my SRPGs when it's something like Triangle Strategy, but Disgaea just seems like it's a silly game story-wise.
