Call me an annoying sperg all you want, but the fact that you can get a week-long ban for arguing with people in a thread about politics is absurd
That was a fucking shit show. It wasn't just HHH either, there were a bunch of accounts that seemed to come from nowhere, weren't regular poster, and were absolutely determined to disrupt any sort of information gathering, proper discussion or valuable insight with absolute delusional bait.
I believe the level of reports that day was deliberate, malicious, and designed to disrupt the normal flow of the forum too.
Some of the 108 banned were some of the best info gatherers and OP's in A+H, some were huge retards, but that's the trouble when mod retention for the place is low.
I've noticed that some of the same disruptive posters are shitting up the Michigan Morman Church mass shooting thread today, as well, looking for a fight.
It's intensely frustrating.
There used to be a chat at the top of A+N, and I wonder if repurposing an unused forum chatroom for A+N, only opened in an emergency, when there is a bigger happening, and timing out baitposters and the baited from the thread to chat for a few hours would be helpful.
People might then just use it on their own after a while, whenever it appears. I don't even know if such a thing is possible.
I'd volunteer to be an extra, low level, gruntmod to do emergency modding specifically for bigger news threads like the recent shootings, but I'm restricted to phone posting for a month or so, I don't know if you can wield a broom on a phone. I'd have time to patrol a couple of times a day at normal forum activity, or babysit one thread during a happening. I'd already be there, anyway, lol.
I'm highly familiar with A+N, I read a huge amount there, and I have a lot of patience for it's foibles, know it's rhythms, it's Da Jooos nonsense, know the actual Jews, too, and the Mormons, the man haters, the women haters, the Solzhenitsyn haters and other communists, etc, etc.
A+N does have value, it's how to harness it, and beat that motherfucker into a useful shape, I guess.
