I think, as another user pointed out, that (one of) the barriers to site growth is the learning curve. OTOH it's a useful filter for retards who need to lurk more. I fall somewhere in the middle since I just learned about sorting by prefixes.

categorizing threads is hard when many cows or communities have crossover. most furfag cows are troons now anyways. Most kiwis avoided AC and I cannot blame them but it made the board stagnant like amholio said
I am one of the people who honestly thinks "Today I want to look at some crazy communities" vs. "Today I want to check out some specific lolcows"...but that's probably more due to them having been separated in the first place. I just scroll through & click on all the threads that interest me, so having them all combined in one spot will actually be more convenient

is there any chance of making another wiki-style database for lolcows? Some of the threads are so long and so full of hilarious updates/happenings that they are quite a slog for people who are new to the site and want to get caught up on a lolcow. I think the highlights system works really well for quickly catching up on a neglected watched thread but in particular for the most active and watched lolcows its can be daunting to a newbie to have to go through 1000+ pages to get the full picture.
