It's worth mentioning that H3 has become friendly with Keem and LolcowLive recently, so part of me had a hard time believing this was 100% completely genuine and that they're not just drumming up drama. But Wood from BeatEmUps (the guy calling in) doesn't seem like the type of guy to fall into this fake drama stuff with LCL and genuinely was very close friends with Billy unlike Boogie, so this seems absolutely true.

I didn't clip this earlier since I put this all down to a larp, but here's Boogie claiming he was originally invited to the funeral until it 'got cancelled' and then says that the funeral got cancelled because Billy wasn't a wealthy man so therefore they had to go 'the cheap route' and cremate him instead.

Wood was in H3's chat and confirmed he's in charge of the guest list to the pending memorial and Boogie isn't even invited.

He confirmed there would be a memorial event but it's not even been set yet. He also mentions Boogie saying Billy couldn't afford a funeral and he has no idea where this came from.

He explains that there was a flag-raising ceremony for Billy for his family as he was an organ donor (which Boogie might be claiming was 'the funeral'), but they also had an honor walk event at the hospital a few days later with around 20-30 members of his family attending before his organs were taken. It turns out in the last month of Billy's life, Wood claims Billy reassessed his friendship with Boogie since Boogie faked having cancer. This goes against Boogie making such a big deal about him being a close friend and keeping in touch with his family for updates when they essentially wanted nothing to do with him.

Wood also confirmed that Billy's family didn't want him at the funeral or any events either since he lied about having cancer.

He purposefully used the terms 'funeral' and the 'wake' to manipulate his way into getting time off despite never being invited to anything official.

Boogie was not in any way close to them, all their friends had cameos in the movie that came out a couple of years ago, boogie wasnt part of that. Don't care for Boogie but I'm a fan of the Game Chasers. Unfortunately since Billy's passing there's a lot of of drama that's unfolded.

For those who don't know the Game Chasers were Billy Hudson and Japheth (Jay) Hatfield. They've had a youtube channel since around 2010. Think American Pickers but for video games. Billy and Jay are the main characters but Billy's cousin Chris and Jay's brothers are reoccurring characters.


Unfortunately in August Billy posted this video.

Updates were sparce, but then Billy posted this.

Unfortunately Billy lost his battle on September 18th.



Obviously tributes from other Youtubers started being posted as this was big news for the retro game community. If you followed the Game Chasers you know Billy's cousin Chris Hudson aka Redneck Chris. Chris had deleted a few tweets, one asking for prayers for Billy (couldn't find) and this now deleted tweet

So it's strange Chris being Billy's cousin would delete a tweet announcing his cousins death. This is where things start to get weird.

So Billy's "Best friend" Wood has a pretty successful youtube channel 1.9 million subscribers currently. Wood is from Australia and started appearing in Game Chaser videos when he would visit Texas. Wood also moved to the US and first settled in Texas. But in his own words Texas didn't align with his values and moved to PA in early 2022.

But Wood's appearance on the Game Chasers channel were random and he wasn't really around after he moved.

So now we get to the drama. 5 days ago Wood posted on his channel this tribute video (filmed at Billy's house) and shared a lot of information about what happened. Keep in mind Billy went from normal to being unable to use his left side of the body to being able to walk out of the hospital within a 3 week span.

So I watched the video and at first I thought it was nice tribute. But an immediate red flag was where is Jay and where is Chris? But I figured Jay would post his own video when he was ready.

Then Chris started vague tweeting and it made the situation even more weird.


So last night Chris had a live stream on his channel. I don't have an archive and he deleted it this morning. If you know Chris he's a redneck who likes to drink. The stream started out tame but after a few beers he started spilling the beans.

He basically said as soon as Billy got sick, Wood swooped in. He told the stream he never liked Wood and as he got more drunk he really shared what he thought. Calling Wood a faggot and other things.

Then Chris called Jay and that's when the more shit came to light. (he also showed Jay's number on the stream lol) Jay also confirmed everything Chris was saying was true.

Jay said that him, Wood and Rob filmed a video basically the same thing as Wood posted. Once the video was done there was an incident with Jay and Billy's wife Regina and her sister. Basically she gave the passwords for the youtube channel to Wood and he would control it. (Billy did all the production work so I assume he was the only one who had access to the channel) Jay said that he might not even post anything to channel again, but he feels like he should have the choice to do so. Or if Regina said "I don't want it to continue" he would be ok with that. According to him she didn't say that. Jay then told Wood to not post the video with him in it. So while they're explaining all this Chris said he feels like they were cut out of Billy's last month. He was told to delete tweets asking for prayers and announcing the death of Billy.

They even speculated if they would be able to attend his funeral. During the stream they found out in real time it was unlikely to happen. Billy's wife posted this on her Facebook page. Jay referenced a facebook post during the stream.


So basically Jay is being locked out of the Game Chasers channel, and him and Chris are being locked out Billy's funeral by Regina. Boogie jumped the gun saying Jay is going to be on LOLCOW today but Jay clarified it. He likely will go on once his video explaining his side of the story is released.


So lets go back to Wood's tribute video. When it was first posted the comments were very positive.


Since Chris's livestream happened the comments section has started to turn.


I think the most confusing part is why is this happening? Why would Wood want the Game Chasers channel when he has 1.9 Million subscribers and the Game Chasers channel has 172K. It doesn't make sense. It seems to me Billy's wife didn't like Chris and tolerated Jay and now that he's gone she's cutting that cord.

I thought it was strange when Wood posted that video without Jay. Jay and Billy have been friends since as their show intro says "The 90s". As a fan of the show it was surprising seeing Wood make the video as I hadn't seen him on the Game Chasers channel for a long time. While I don't know how Billy's and Wood relationship was over the last few years I do know Chris and obviously Jay were around. I've even seen people say Wood wouldn't even acknowledge their channel to help them grow since he has a much larger platform.

Well that really sucks about all the fighting between Billy's wife and Jay.

I can see both sides really. Game Chasers was very clearly Billy's channel. If you see the first videos on it and outside of the main Game Chaser/Toy Chaser videos most of the solo videos were from Billy. Jay has his own channel where he streams retro games and does food reviews.

But at the same time there is no Game Chasers without Jay too. I actually preferred Jay over Billy, just found him more entertaining. But it was also clear Billy was steering the episodes as far as the narrative and editing etc. I still could see Jay wanting his tribute to go up on the main channel or something though, that's where it would get the most eyes, so if she's blocking that, that sucks.

I'm guessing they must have had some kind of previous financial agreement too for whatever the revenue is for the main episodes and stuff, so I can understand that also being annoying, but also consider they just lost half of whatever family income Billy was going to bring in for the rest of his life and they have a young kid. So honestly, I would just let her keep the channel and the money out of respect to my friend. Still I can see why it would be complicated for Jay. At the end of the day though, without Billy there really isn't a show and in my opinion it would be stupid to try and keep it alive, especially considering "game chasing" and "toy chasing" is way dried up and youtube is completely oversaturated with those videos anyway compared to what it was 10-15 years ago.

Redneck Chris always was the weakest part of episodes for me, yeah he's family so that sucks for him too, but I don't really give a shit either about that guy either way other than feeling sorry he lost a cousin.

The whole thing just sucks. Especially hearing that a lot of them have beef with Wood, who seemed like a really good dude in all of this. This is the most surprising thing I've seen. Regardless of what side people are on, they mostly agree Wood is a complete self-absorbed douchebag. Jay's brother Tim disliked him as he felt once Wood got popular he left everyone behind and didn't try to help the smaller channels that helped him.

I tried to find where this was said but, Wood allegedly made a statement saying "He didn't have any friends in Texas".

But I also just found out apparently Wood is the godfather to Billy's son. If true interesting why he wouldn't pick Jay. Which goes back to Billy's wife Regina didn't like Jay that much. Jay also revealed he's knew Regina before Billy and they've never had an issue in over 20+ years of knowing each other which is why he's so confused on the whole situation.

Chris really fucked up by doing that stream. Jay tried to have him do it in a better headspace but after a few beers his mind was made up. While I think its funny calling people faggots, most normies will clutch their pearls. But it also makes Regina's actions justified.

Jay actually came of level headed and I'm looking forward to seeing his video.

I think its more the channel was handed to someone who had nothing to do with it.

Jay said that he might not ever post to the channel again, but he should have that choice to do so or he wanted Regina the wife to say she didn't want anymore videos on the channel. Which apparently she hasn't said.

Just being objective about the situation, since Billy is gone, the keys to the channel should go to Jay. It's always been rumored that Boogie was one of the "investors" in Shady Jay's Barcade when he was trying to open one. When Jay was making the videos of him looking for arcade machines he said he had a couple of famous youtube benefactors and at the exact same time Boogie started claiming he was investing in a new business. It always seemed to me like Boogie was more just acquaintances with Billy while he was a lot more friendly with Jay.
