You can object to discovery as being too onerous, too disproportionate to the need of the other party, too irrelevant, and intended primarily for purposes of embarrassment or harassment. I'd say this is probably too much being asked for, and there's probably a good implicit argument that they're just trying to get other embarrassing messages totally irrelevant to the case. I assume they're looking for all the times he talked about her or sent videos of her to others, but maybe they don't trust he'd actually, properly produce all those files (and it may not be that burdensome to export everything at once) so they just want everything.

I'd say that discovery request could be narrowed by the judge if it's objected to by Destiny. But there's a non-zero chance, depending on how Discord is explained to the judge and how much the judge thinks Destiny is playing by the rules, that the judge sides with the plaintiff. Remember, we're not dealing with a terminally online decisionmaker. Even the judge's clerks might not really know that much about how Discord works (I have never seriously used Discord, for example, so I would only be able to give an approximate analogy).

He’s mostly just grandstanding IMO. The breadth of the request is the only objection he raised in that video that’s legally relevant, nobody cares if it’s disgusting. Lots of legal work is. This case probably doesn’t even come close to cracking the top 10% of disgusting cases.
I think I mostly agree with the analysis of @he who has thus come/gone. It’s probably too broad of a request, but I’m not suprised, lots of lawyers love to try and go on fishing expeditions with super wide nets. And then leave it to the poor clerks and judge to figure it out.
I could also maybe see the court simply requiring Destiny to allow opposing counsel to inspect the server which is something you occasionally see in voluminous ESI. But I don’t use discord enough to know if that’s a feasible solution here. I strongly doubt the court will force him to hand over ALL the videos on his server from the past five years, especially if that’s interpreted to include stuff like GIFs or whatever.


Also as for tiny having the relevant material and destroying it instead of handing it over, that’s a huge no-no which could get him sanctioned and/or hit with a spoliation inference Jury Instruction. Not that he’s not retarded enough to still do it, but his counsel will hate him for it.
