Can somebody give me a quick rundown on what this show is and why these shitlibs love it so much?
It’s called The Boys. It was originally a comic book made by a man who hated super hero comics and wanted nothing to do with them, but DC demanded he make a Super Hero comic anyway, so he decided to make a story where super heroes are celebrities, but are all part of an evil Nazi organization, and all of them are sex and drug addicts, so “The Boys” are a human team who police and arrest the super heroes who get out of line.
Amazon made a show out of it that only held onto the premise for about 3 episodes before they realized they could make more money if they ignored the boys and put all the focus on the heroes so it could be MCU but with sex and drugs.
They also seemed to heavily miss the point of their own framing. Homelander is evil superman who is racist and stuff but also loved by the media. This gets really weird in season 3 when they simultaneously try to frame his fans as “only following alternative news” but also frame the mainstream media as on his side.
Season 2 had the big Nazi stuff added to it complete with a random dude being radicalized into shooting a Muslim clerk at a convenience store.
You also see a ton of penis in this show. Like, so much there’s there’s even a scene when an Ant Man-like guy goes inside a penis but sneezes and blows the guy up by growing back.
TL;DR lefties love it because it’s like the MCU but mega gay and attacks the right wing, but like all lefty things, it has no idea what side it’s actually taking and falls flat. I watched 3 seasons of it and hated it
Btw, the show tries to frame itself as “we kill super heroes” and then they proceed to quite literally only kill 1 super hero in the entire runtime. Every other hero who dies is killed by another one. They also want to make calling them “Supes” into a real thing, forgetting they everyone already calls them capes and calls this stuff capeshit.
There’s also this really really awful attempt to make a Snyder cut joke, but clearly no one who worked on the show understood what “release the Snyder cut” actually meant.

Season 3 ends with homelander showing off his son to his supporters, then his son is with a milkshake and everyone turns to see a single frail guy saying “fuck you fascists!” Honelander blows his head up with his laser vision and everyone cheers.”
Where does that fall? The milk shake throwing not being a threat? Antifa being weak? Defending your child isn’t evil? The show really has no idea how to make a point on anything
