Also very late, but apparently Panzer was very mad about Contrapoints not towing the line of the Islamic Resistance. I only mention this because he once timed an update to his CK3 mod to celebrate a Contrapoints video.

Kaiserreich Russia is so obnoxious with the event spam and politics bullshit, I couldn't even reach 1937 because of how horrible it was.

What kind of drooling retard adds 15 events in a single year where you have to choose between lowering your stability or advancing closer to a coup you don't want, and decides you need 15 more?
my biggest problem with this is not necessarily event spam per se, but that you CANNOT IGNORE THEM.
if you fuck up ONCE you have to reload a save
reading some of the events can really make a first time play through stand out, but when you are FORCED TO, it makes repeat runs an absolute slog.
cant tell you how many times i played russia before the update and just had so much fun and barely used my brain.
now its like a fucking chore that i have to set time aside for.
not to mention that they made the based paths the most difficult (solonevich my nigga)
Its a problem in Russia and Germany which got TNO-ified. I don't mind flavor events if they do not actually effect gameplay as if you don't wanna read just hit next. The big problem in both is you need to constantly pause-unpause-repeat. HOI4 was never meant that way and meant to be quick and easy. The point of it is warfare. you get four years to build up and then you are released. They even fucked with up as WW2 in KR tends to start in LATE 1940 now opposed to mid or late 1939 like it used to. Even if these mini-games or events are fine its still annoying. For example on a TNO toozer mod called fading order (them trying to make the fabled TNO3) I once asked them if they are going to have retarded mini-games like the blackjack great game mini-game.

One of their devs barged in to be like "You think the great game is hard?" in smug condescension. Yes. Yes it it especially with all the other bullshit. I don't wanna play blackjack when I got a proxy war and a domestic mechanic on how much HRT I am putting into the water to make super Aryan sissies you cock sucker. Its all busy work made by devs since they hired way to many people so need to feel like they are doing something. Germany's blackmonday card game is similar to this and Russia is not as bad but still has this in spades. Germany's is the worst though as there is a national spirit where if you do not get rid of it before the war its impossible to win. I forget what its called but you get this -30 to -25 debuff to org which is suicidal. There is no way you can hold the line especially in a two front war. The game never tells you this and if you criticze any of these mechanics or a run being ruined they tell you "Just start over bro! You did not roll the proper RNG on the blackjack Germany card game so you gotta re-do the run." despite how much IRL time that wastes.

I honestly hate the cock sucking sycophants ALL these mods have. You cannot criticize anything about a mod without its hordes of fanboys descending upon you like vultures. Sometimes you see it in real time where they say an idea of yours is stupid till you see it implemented in the game proper by the devs and then they seal clap.

Tbf great game is incredibly easy once you figure out how it works because the AI never does anything if it has more points than you. So you can just make one decision right before the timer runs out and the AI doesn’t have time to respond

I imagine Fehlinger would be happiest in a post-Heydrich world given he actually gets his dream of a European nation.

Also TNORA's new end date is now 2040. See you all in 2105 for the Peru 2010-2020 content.

The funny thing is that TNO (at least what I have) isn't even that obscure with how you take political paths. The worst is probably Japan with it's giant event chain, but even then Japan only has 3 paths (for now).

I am vindicated once more.
Anyways, work on Schwab has picked up from a halt to crawl, reformed Einheitspakt idea icon. Not my best work, but it'll do, I can't get lighting effects to work despite me having DirectX12 which is really hamstringing me. 3 more icons to go.

In that case i will ask my grandkids living in Mars to return to earth to get my old computer so they can write the events about how Vizcarra became the puppet of the Fehlinger Reich and Pedro Castillo is leading the "Sendero Oscuro" Burgundyst liberation Front.

I've made more progress on the Nedic cultures submod for EK1. The Breton culture has been successfully split into four as planned, assets gathered & rearranged, and all the code seems to be fully functional. Now comes the really tedious part of editing almost every character & province in High Rock...

Iliac: Represents the Bretons of Wayrest & the southern/southeastern region of Stormhaven more generally. By reputation they're the fanciest, wealthiest and most cosmopolitan members of the Breton race - as well as the most decadent and treacherous. They use the standard DLC French faces, a mix of DLC French/English/Late Italian clothes (had to edit some of the Italian ones slightly so the women's partlets would actually fit around their thinner necks), and some Reachman headgear I took from the Game of Thrones mod (Wayrest has a flower motif, and the Reachmen have the best flower-themed headgear I've been able to find in all CK2). Their namelist shares most English-sounding names with the others but favors French & Italian-sounding names (ex. Alessio), and you could say they're the Bretons most like those you'll see in the last three TES games. They'll use the DLC Italian units.

ek-breton.webp ek-breton-fem.webp ek-breton1.webp

Glenumbran: Represents the Bretons of Daggerfall & the western region of Glenumbra more generally. They're the most militaristic of the Bretons, more conservative than Iliac Bretons but less insular than the Kurallians, and the chivalric tradition of High Rock is strongest in their homeland. They use the standard DLC French faces, a mix of DLC French & English outfits, and some Valyrian clothes & headgear + the gray Stormlander burgonets taken from the old AGOT More Faces submod to go with Daggerfall's dragon motif. Their namelist is mostly English, favors English-sounding names whenever there used to be an option between them & French-based equivalents in the old Breton namelist (ex. William over Guillaume), and you could say they're the Bretons closest to the ones you'll interact with in TES 2: Daggerfall. They'll be using the DLC English units.

ek-glenumbran1.webp ek-glenumbran-fem.webp ek-glenumbran.webp

Kurallian: Represents the Bretons of the Rivenspire region in north-central High Rock, whose Kurallian Mountains give them their name. They're the most isolated and traditionalistic Bretons, though no less warlike than the Glenumbrans considering their homeland is absolutely lousy with hostile undead, witch covens & worse, and they're probably the closest of all Bretons to their ancestors the Druids of Galen (the original human inhabitants of High Rock, all Bretons are their mutt descendants from the days when they got buckbroken by the Direnni Elves, but their remoteness means the Kurallians likely would've gotten less Elven blood than the others). They use DLC French faces combined with the Frosty Nedic Portraits submod's Reachman eyes, reflecting both their more barbaric ways & relative lack of 'refined' Elvish heritage, and vanilla CK2 Celtic outfits. Alone out of all the Breton cultures, they will continue to use the DLC Celtic units.

ek-kurallian.webp ek-kurallian-fem.webp ek-kurallian1.webp

Wrothgarian: Represents the Bretons of the Wrothgarian Mountains spanning northeastern High Rock, including pretty much the entire border with Skyrim. They're consequently the most Nord & Reachman-blooded & influenced of the Bretons, though this influence has definitely not always been benign, going all the way back to the ancient times when their ancestors were accidentally killed by the forces of the Nordic Empire who mistook them for Elves. They use DLC French faces combined with the Frosty Nedic Portraits submod's Reachman eyes and DLC German outfits. They'll be using the DLC German units.

Edit: Oh, and also, I've made some progress on the Alessian Order revamp part of my submod as well. The Marukhati/Alessian religion desc's been rewritten to be more in-line with the lore (the old one had bizarre stuff like denouncing the Eight Divines, who canonically were still revered by the Alessians as saints, as their evil gods) and I'm working on adding patron 'deities' (saints, for the most part) to match those of the Eight/Nine Divines; while the Alessians were monotheists who worshiped only Akatosh as the One, as mentioned they still kept the Divines around as the One's saints & angelic servants (in addition to mortals elevated to sainthood, like Alessia herself), and so I thought this would be an easy way to add some flavor to their otherwise very barebones faith.

I'm also working on reimplementing religious outfits, which for the Alessians, will include a combination of the Late Byzantine white outfit + Byzantine silver-lined black hood (to be a physical symbol of their very black-and-white moral lens, also the Nibeneans have the Byzantine aesthetic in this mod & the Order's stronghold was in Nibenay) for men and the Benedictine nun's outfit (again, black & white) for women. Among the screenshots below you can find one of the complete patron traits atm (St. Maruhk), most other Alessian patron traits are still a WIP as of this writing.

On that note, I've altered the Iliac Bretons further, gave them Reachman flower/tower helmets (fitting symbolism for both flowery Wayrest & the Adamantine Tower on nearby Balfiera) to rival the Stormlander burgonets used by Glenumbrans; I have edited the men's helmet to give them a bit of a mail aventail for neck protection (carried over from their old kettle hats), women don't need one since their martial clothing already incorporates a throat-covering camail (to compensate, as can be seen the men also get a bigger shield & visible sword). Also cleaned up the Alessian priest hood, which was previously too long & extended out of their portrait frame before - you can compare the Alessian priest in the screenshot below to the one in my previous post to see the difference (check the bottom left of the portrait frame).

I've also finished up the Alessian overhaul. The Arch-Prelate, the Alessian Order's religious head, has been elevated to kingly rank (similar to the Pope in vanilla CK2) to better reflect the Order's great temporal power & ability to dominate even Emperors/Empresses in the past.

ck2_125.webp

Non-Cynical Alessians can now select one of 8/9 patrons, as many as the Eight/Nine Divines, depending of course on whether Tiber Septim or a very successful player character has ascended to godhood as Talos yet - a big step towards making them feel more like the Tamrielic version of the medieval Catholic Church (as opposed to the Eight/Nine Divines, who have medieval Christian aesthetics but are theologically very much pagan/polytheistic still). I used the EK2 patron icons as a base for most of the demoted Divines, except Mara who uses her ESO stained-glass icon instead, and recycled in-game flags/icons for most of the mortal saints except Pelinal, for whom I used the 2006 Knights of the Nine expansion pack box art. Had to dig pretty deeply into the lore for quotes that could be used (either as-is or in paraphrased forms) for their trait descriptions.

Lorkhan/Shezarr/Shor (Hailed as the 'Missing Sibling' and the most pro-human of the Aedra, for which he was killed by his pro-Mer siblings in most Tamrielic creation myths)

ck2_127.webpck2_139.webp

Talos (The Alessians never survived to witness Tiber Septim's ascension canonically; but if they had I don't doubt that they'd be over the moons at the thought of a Man buckbreaking the hated Mer, establishing human rule over all Tamriel and mantling the fallen Lorkhan, thereby reuniting the Missing Sibling with the One & basically becoming Tamriel's Jesus in their view)

ck2_143.webpck2_144.webp

St. Arkay (Demoted to sainthood, still hailed for his staunch anti-undead stance & governance over life and death, or as the Alessians would call it - the Arkayn Cycle)

ck2_128.webpck2_140.webp

St. Mara (Demoted to sainthood, still hailed as Akatosh's wife and an exemplar for all women; since they were stereotypically 'no fun allowed' prudes in the lore, I don't think the Alessians would revere fun & lustful Dibella as a major saintess, and Kynareth's role as the intrigue-booster is taken by her son Morihaus, leaving maternal Mara as the Divine who fits their conservative ideals best)

ck2_129.webpck2_141.webp

St. Stendarr (Demoted to sainthood, still beloved for being the 'Apologist of Men' who protects them from the Elves & Daedra)

ck2_130.webpck2_142.webp

St. Alessia (Namesake of the Order, liberator of Cyrodiil and first great divinely-aided buck breaker of Merkind)

ck2_131.webpck2_135.webp

St. Morihaus (Alessia's husband and son of Kynareth; funny enough, since there's no Minotaur race in EK1, if you look through the history you'll find that the devs actually went with the Alessian version of Morihaus - that he was a human gigachad instead of a Minotaur, which was actually BS propaganda they cooked up on their human supremacist drive - for the mod)

ck2_132.webpck2_136.webp

St. Maruhk (The monkey prophet who founded the Alessian religion)

ck2_133.webpck2_137.webp

St. Pelinal Whitestrake (Alessia's strongest warrior, Morihaus' friend, and possibly a cyborg pulled from the future to serve as an anti-Mer Terminator according to Michael Kirkbride)

ck2_134.webpck2_138.webp

Mechanically, all Alessians who have a patron other than Lorkhan, Talos or the Divines demoted to Saints are counted as worshipers of Akatosh, who was canonically identified as the One/the Supreme Spirit by them. This will allow them to use the Amulet of Akatosh artifact, among others, while Alessians who follow Talos or one of the Divines-turned-Saints can stick with their respective patron's artifacts.
